bottlerocket 12-12-2004 06:33 PM

EMO is many things...mainly, a stereotype people claim I fall into because of the way I dress...

It's a music genre, too, and I listen to. Indie and emo...gotta love it. It's mostly based on stereotypes people give it (it's all whiny people about being dumped, etc.), but they're not true.

Then what are emo lyrics? every emo song I've heard was "whine whine m g/f broke up with me" (no offense)
And I've only heard on emo CD and that cd was a yellow card cd and every song was about a relationship :-S
and stuff
Edited due to terrible typing

Muadip 12-12-2004 06:40 PM

you looked arther "english stereotypish" on that picture... like some old beatles member, but what are defining it??? like "I'm a scater because I wheare baggy pants"

1- Yellowcard is not emo
2- You said you only listened to one emo CD, therefore assering your opinion on one piece of evidence that isn't even evidence at all
3- I don't want to argue about it, because neither of us will compromise and it will lead to nothing but a fight and tension, and I don't want it.

Just know that you should be open to ALL musical genres.

Luke! I asked about you earlier around here...

but you clarified why you haven't been around in the IM.

So anyway, how are you?

Foxfire 12-12-2004 07:00 PM

Yellowcard isn't emo.

I really like this quote from Guitar World's "Bass Guitar" magazine:

"Yellowcard was sort of onto something in their first CD. It's a shame they sold out with the TRL crowd (That's right, I said it - deal with it)"

bottlerocket 12-12-2004 07:02 PM

^ I agree...Starstruck and For Pete's Sake were incredible songs. Then, in their second CD, they dropped their style.

Boo on Yellowcard.

The new CD isn't too bad, though...

Haha ... on Friday after school, we chugged egg nog (1/2 each with 5 people), and I threw up 7 times. I was the fastest, though, and won  It's gonna be on the announcements on TV on Friday for the whole school to see (edited unfortunately, but the uncut version will be played on the school's cable TV station later).
