Yep, Slumber of Sullen Eyes is great too. Unfortunately, Shadow Mechanics is...not so good.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-10-2007 11:03 PM

Slumber of Sullen Eyes is an excellent album to jumpdafukup to.

tastexmyxscythe 08-10-2007 11:05 PM

I don't have it. :-(
I stream. lawl. Which is pathetic.

Shadows 08-10-2007 11:13 PM

Where did you stream it from?

I can send it to you if you like.

tastexmyxscythe 08-10-2007 11:15 PM

That would be great, and I honestly don't remember if I could find it on Imeem though that's where I get most of my stuff.
I will not bother explaining why Opeth suck. If you believe that Opeth do anything other than suck massive donkey cõcks, you are too stupid to reason with, so I will not waste my time trying to convince you. If you are aware of the black hole of suckery that is Opeth, then you may be curious as to why anyone would ever like Opeth. Allow me to enlighten you.

Opeth fans are deluded into believing that Opeth is “deep”. This is generally because they are stupid enough to believe that any band which uses both distorted and acoustic guitars is “original”. They are also stupid enough to believe that a band which is too lazy to properly transition between acoustic and distorted and instead opts to record acoustic and distorted tracks separately and then randomly splice them back together is “groundbreaking”. Combine this with the fact that all Opeth songs are approximately 3 hours long (i.e. “epic” to your standard malldwelling Opeth fanboy) and Opeth are both “original”, “groundbreaking”, and “epic”. In the tiny vocabulary of an Opeth fan, the only word capable of describing something simultaneously “original”, “groundbreaking”, and “epic” is “deep”. A better description of Opeth would be “the soundtrack to a mallgoth’s life”.

Some Opeth fans also believe that Opeth is “heavy” or “intense”. My äss. No, literally. My äss. I’ve had diarrhea that’s more intense than Opeth. And the noises I heard that time were more interesting than anything Opeth have ever come up with.

In short, people like Opeth because they are stupid, and because of the clever marketing skills of Jewish record executives. I must admit, though, Opeth can come in handy during theology debates. The fact that Opeth exists is proof that THERE IS NO GOD.
man, that is one of the most ignorant explanations i've read in a while. everything you said is just dumb man. i enjoy listening to opeth for many reasons other than what you have listed. all of your arguments are irrelevant to my reasons for liking opeth.

maybe some people do believe they're "deep" or "intense." so what. you act like every opeth fan thinks like that. regardless of your IQ, you are a moron.

i mean, you said that i have no right to have an opinion because i was listening to "non death metal music." wtf is that about? you are fucking pathetic metal head that doesn't deserve the respect you get around here. I don't care how much you know about old school dm and how many elite bands you "heil", you are a bitch.

Shadows 08-10-2007 11:43 PM

Dude, don't even bother. Just put him on your ignore list and be done with it.

C.O.A. 08-10-2007 11:51 PM

yeah i'll think about it.
Demigod is a great album. I've listened to the entire thing many, many times.
Vocals kills it. Older Behemoth is much better.

LifeInABox 08-10-2007 11:54 PM

Or you can just take what he says in stride.

Shadows 08-10-2007 11:55 PM
Vocals kills it. Older Behemoth is much better.
I prefer his voice on Demigod to just about anything else they've done. Plus the riffs and such on Demigod were way better than previous albums.

i am the robots 08-10-2007 11:57 PM

Way too many layers.

If I want to hear layered vocals, I'll listen to old Through The Eyes Of The Dead, Anthony Gunnells actually knew what screams sounded good atop one another.

Angmar 08-10-2007 11:58 PM

I don't like Behemoth at all tbh. I tried their first album too and found it to be average. I won't even bother with Grom.

i am the robots 08-10-2007 11:58 PM

Grom's awesome. Zos Kia Cultus is the best though.

Shadows 08-10-2007 11:58 PM

Your problem is you started with black metal Behemoth. Grom is awful. They didn't become good at all until Thelema.6.

Angmar 08-10-2007 11:59 PM

I started with Demigod, didn't like, then tried their BM and didn't like, sorry :(

He only used like 2.

Shadows 08-11-2007 12:02 AM

Actually, many more than that. I believe the exact number was 7. But I could be wrong. Nergal, I mean.

LifeInABox 08-11-2007 12:03 AM

The dude from TTEOTD?

Eliminator 08-11-2007 01:13 AM
