Does anyone else think that "In The Nervous Light Of Sunday" from their EP is better than the one on As The Roots Undo? |
Hey i've seriously read quite a bit into this thread but it's soo long.
I'm into bands like Taking back sunday, Biffy Clyro, Senses Fail etc, but I realise that what i've been listening to, and what i've always thought to be emo...aren't actually emo at all. I'm really interested to listen to some real emo. music. Can you guys recommend me some good emo and screamo bands in your opinion - aimend mainly at DFellon2044409 and cbmartinez. But really anybody recomends some i'm most grateful. I've downloaded some circle takes the square, textbook traitors and van johnson, I think they're pretty good. If anyone of these are your favourites please say. If not tell me others. Cheers, also this is a really intersting thread. Thanks a bunch |
Rites of Spring are one of the original great emo bands. My personal favourite. Other users may be able to send you some of their songs (I can't at the moment as my computer is a bit buggered- I'm currently using the PC in my mates house after a jamming session).
|
Joshua Fit For Battle
Saetia City Of Caterpillar Indian Summer seem the obvious ones. And Rites Of Spring of course. |
Hot Cross
Neil Perry A Day In Black And White Circle Takes The Square Textbook Traitors Jerome's Dream Saetia |
The song "Lyburnum Wits" by Moss Icon will last you a lifetime.
And Sep, I was kidding. :p Meh, I'll add more since you'll probably get the same 20 bands here. Bells On Trike Bob Tilton Beneath Low Flying Planes (Haven't listened to them in a long time. Don't remember exactly what they sound like.) Breakwater Embassy Hoover In Tongues Makara Mohinder Native Nod Navio Forge Palatka Reach out Republic of Freedom Fighters Shahrazad Shotmaker The Khayembii Communique The Kossabone Red The Sea, The Sea Tipping Canoe Usurp Synapse FuzzyLlamaOfDoom on AIM if you have any requests. |
I've got this playlist called "death to false screamo" from Soulseek. It's got some real good stuff in there. Add me and I'll send it to you.

Oh yeah. Their stuff is extremely hard to find, that's why I asked. I told Jon and Ash about them, I thought those were the only peope that knew. Awesome fucking band though.

That it is. I think you gave me a song too. That was a long ways back. Hook me up. |
A Violent Resignation: The Great American Teenage Suicide Rebellion is actually a discography of about 60+ songs. I have like 15 or so. If you want more, I can hook you up.

Ben, where have you been? |
Um, I like Days in December.
But even more I like pretty much everything. Especially, Enrique Iglesias. ;-) |
Cheers guys for telling me some bands. I wanna get a Hot Cross album (dunno how many they got) I really like their style...but there are soooo many really decent emo bands that i've heard from this thread, and some that i haven't heard yet.
Any other albums that you guys recommend I really should get? Or is it a matter of opinion? Sep mate thanks for the offer, but I got sh.itty 56K - meaning that'll it'll take a loooong time to download a playlist from you...unless you don't mind! |
I wanna get a Hot Cross album .

How cheap? |
Question...what is emo/screamo?
Don't reply as if I'm stupid, I've heard both but everyone seems to genrelize how they like then get critisized for it. So I'd like to know before I start posting about the emo/screamo bands I like. Listing bands isn't exactly answering the question. :thumb: |
Whatever anyone'll give for it. I'm also starting a distro soon, probably euro people only.
|
I'll give you 6 big ones. And I'll buy it off you this summer.
- what do you mean you're starting a distro? |
