I'm finally listening to all of Rust In Peace...great album.

Hollywood Rose 08-20-2005 02:52 PM

I'm finally seeing them Sept 26 or something.

The only weak song is Lucretia.

MAthiAS 08-20-2005 04:07 PM

...Lucretia is a good song...

Mazeppa 08-20-2005 04:10 PM

It's excellent, I don't get why people think it's weak.

123 just learned it on guitar. Quite complicated. However some of the vocal parts (barely none just one spot) I'm not a huge fan of, however I love that song.

The intro riff to Holy Wars took me forever to get down. Most stuff on Rust In Peace is pretty complicated to play.

Yeah, however I picked up the intro to Holy Wars fairly easy. Its just alternate picking fast.

The demo version is a little bit faster, I like playing to that a lot.

RustedPieces 08-20-2005 07:43 PM

The solos in the real song are better than the demo ones IMO.

123, however I love Poland's lead work, but in the demo he has a weird like pedal I think.

Friedman=orgasm.

It almost sounds like a synthesizer.

RiceMonster 08-20-2005 09:20 PM

Yeah, Friedman's solos were much better than Poland's. Poland's tone annoyed me anyway.

FlyingPaul_83 08-20-2005 09:30 PM

could someone upload the holy wars demo?

Marty Friedman was by far the best guitarist Deth ever had.

The only weak part of Holy Wars is Mustaine's solo.

I like his solo the best........

Mark. A 08-20-2005 10:26 PM

Ahhh, ok?

That is one hell of a shit solo.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-20-2005 10:26 PM

Friedman > *

MAthiAS 08-20-2005 10:30 PM

...Mustaine's solo on Holy Wars is awesome...

FlyingPaul_83 08-20-2005 10:33 PM
Not really, they avoid some songs because Dave's a Christian loser now though.

What songs do they avoid?

The Conjuring and Good Mouring/Black Friday.
Holy **** that sucks balls, Thos two songs are incredible.

I think it's good too.

bassist105 08-21-2005 06:53 AM

Hopefully I get 'The System Has Failed' on Tuesday, I hear it's a return to the golden ages, listened to most of the tracks and I agree, there's a new slant to their music since the golden days though...

Who's better Friedman or Poland (solo-wise) would you say?

Esp Griffyn 08-21-2005 06:55 AM

Oh man, Im just listening to Megadeth now, until Recently I was all Metallica, then I got the "Rude Awakening" dvd, Im a Convert.

I prefer Friedmans solos, Tornado of souls anyone?

my favourite Megadeth solo, also my favourite Megadeth song, though "Dread and the Fugitive Mind" is growing on me.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-21-2005 06:58 AM

Tornado of Souls = Best.Metal.Solo.Ever

Is Rude Awakening the only album you have?

bassist105 08-21-2005 07:02 AM

Hmmm, one of my favourite songs is Polaris... It seems pretty poor sound quality on my PC though...

the first track on that album is so incredible live, with pyro effects and all that good stuff.

I just realized how much ass that demo kicks.

FlyingPaul_83 08-21-2005 08:40 AM

ths solos are really weird, and it's missing the acoustic solo thing. It's awesome thought, thanks metal guitar

Mazeppa 08-21-2005 09:31 AM
I just realized how much ass that demo kicks.
Quite often I listen to the demo rather then the proper version, I just prefer it.

NP:Schubert-Piano Sonata in B flat No1

FlyingPaul_83 08-21-2005 09:43 AM

how would you finger this part of hangar 18?

e--18p13------------------13-
b---------15----------15-----
g------------15----15--------
d---------------15-----------

also is this the fingering for this part?
e--17p13----------------13----4and 1
b---------15----------15------3
g------------14----14---------2
d---------------15------------3

MegaMustaine 08-21-2005 09:49 AM

Hmm, tough one. I always found that tough. Are you sweeping I'm assuming?

FlyingPaul_83 08-21-2005 09:54 AM

yes, I'm trying to learn the two first solos in hangar 18

Father_Jack 08-21-2005 10:09 AM
Quite often I listen to the demo rather then the proper version, I just prefer it.
I think a couple of the demo versions on CTE (Symphony of Destruction and Psychotron) are both better than the proper studio versions. Even tho I don't like psychotron that much, the demo is pretty cool. And the second solo on symphony of destruction demo version is quality (they also play it live with the second solo.)

MegaMustaine 08-21-2005 10:12 AM

For that fingering question, I bar it all the way through, well if sweeping, I roll it.

FlyingPaul_83 08-21-2005 10:21 AM

what is rolling?

Jev 08-21-2005 01:06 PM
what is rolling?
Basically, rolling your finger.
