To the mod men.........

I dont know if you know it yet but there is some guy who is currently de-reping randomly in the Official Iron Maiden thread. This is starting to get real annoying now. Just wondering if you can do anything about it?

I don't mean to sound controlling/greedy/possesive, but how bout a merger? :D

get the rep identified in the "rep identication" thread in the site forum.
And is the neg rep actually worth anything?

BludgeonySteve 02-21-2005 09:52 AM

Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon won the favorite album comp. So it should be in the 3rd post of the rules thread ;)

Paiste V Zildjian

I am a young drummer and I have heard many arguments about differen types of cymbols. I mainly play rock and metal and I really like Paiste. I havent heard much other brands but what I have heard was not good sounding. Does anyone have any suggestions to what cymbols are good?

Go and ask in the Drums and Percussion forum. This thread is just for questions relating to the running of the rock and metal forum :)

Welcome, by the way.

Get the reps identified in the "rep identification" thread in the site forum, which will tell you who it is, and then see if you can sort things out with him/her from there.

Featured Genres

Like the Other's forum, I'd like to try featured genres in Rock & Metal. There are many, many sub genres of both rock and metal and would be interesting to have detailed descriptions of those genres. I am hopin for fairly specific genres as well. Not just "Black Metal" but "Symphonic Black Metal" instead.

First thing we need though is for this to be cleared by the mods.

Any input for how this should work would be greatly appreciated.

Also, compiling a list of genres might be helpful because it could lead to a checklist one could use as a reference.

ADDITION:
Manuscript Replica and I are both willing to help make this a reality and it seems we have Bartender's blessing.

3074326 02-22-2005 10:26 PM

It's fine with me.

1/4, no go yet. ;)

Bartender 02-22-2005 10:27 PM

2/4, I already said I was okay with it in the thread.

Assuming I'm one of the four, that is.

*suddenly fears he has been presumptious*

Riva 02-22-2005 10:42 PM

Bartender is as much a mod of this forum as Wintermute. You can take that how you will.

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=306121

Yep...

3074326 02-22-2005 10:51 PM

I don't see Wintermute in here much, but I do see Bartender in here very often?

Haha, the acid trip thread gave me a laugh.

Riva 02-22-2005 10:53 PM

Nevermind... I am favourably disposed to Wintermute after he stickied some of my poll threads, and his posting in the Floyd thread.

Bartender should be added to the Forum Moderators list, seeing as he is the fourth mod.

3074326 02-22-2005 10:54 PM

Ah, I guess I didn't realize that Wintermute was behind all the sticking.

I agree that Bartender should be added.

Riva 02-22-2005 10:57 PM

That's alright Chris. You are just as important member of the forum as any one else...

I don't think Bartender will usurp anyone's power for a while. Maybe some day, but not right now...

3074326 02-22-2005 10:59 PM

I think so. We're all users.

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=6769736

Alright, I've got rules in there now.
Featured Genre Rules
- All featured Genre’s must be dibbed according to the dibbing rules
o In order to dibs one must send an email to both Manuscript Replica (sexual_paul_rees@hotmail.com) and Dancin’ Man (peter.mchugh@gmail.com) containing your user name and genre you will be featuring.
o You will receive a reply email stating that you did or did not win the dibs (first come first serve of qualified dibs). Upon receiving that Email you will have one week to complete and post your feature or risk losing your dibs. In the event of a missed dib, there will be another round of dibbing in which the user who failed to post a feature will be excluded.
o A qualified dib is one that is made by a registered forum user and a genre that has not already been covered (the genre list will show what has and has not been featured). If you feel that the genre you have dibbed is a valid rock or metal sub-genre but not represented on the genre list, your dibs will be evaluated and most likely accepted, assuming the genre was appropriate.

- Featured Genres should include but are not limited to
o History of the genre
o Important and contributing bands and artists
o Detailed description of genre
o If you have further questions, ask someone and also use other Featured Genres as a reference.
