Thought I'd provide some photos of what I picked up on Thursday. The T-shirt is signed by Mikael and Peter, and the piece of paper is signed by the whole band. I met them Mikael and Peter at the Hole in the Sky festival, outside a pub and got their signatures on the shirt, and later on I met the whole band on the airport terminal so I got them to sign my ticket too:D. I haven't listened to the album yet, but I know its going to blow me away. The Grand Conjuration was fu[size=2]c[/size]king awesome live by the way.

I have a Ghost Reveries shirt signed by Mikeal, a ticket signed by the whole band, and a setlist signed by the whole band. :D

Anyways, I held out to. I get my mine tomorrow.

Well, I held out, and actually went into town to buy it instead of ordering. Just had my first listen.

There are some definite magic moments, but it'll take a fair few more listens for it all to sink in. First impressions indicate that it stands up there with their best work, but as yet I'm not blown away. The Baying Of The Hounds rocks like a motherf[color=white]uc[/color]ker, though.

Well after a first listen I can say, Opeth did not dissappoint. I'm going to have to listen more before I can write a review, but my first impressions are fu[size=2]c[/size]king great. I'm loving everything, but especially all the guitar solos.

Baying of the Hounds grew on me so quickly! This song is heavy, but has great softer moments. I'm loving the permanent addition of the keyboards from Pear. Can't wait to buy this tomorrow.

But yes, TBOTH is my fav at the moment.

Granted, Opeth are signed with Roadrunner now, and even if I don't totally like that choice, their stuff should be a little easier to find now.

Best Buy has stocked most of their albums since Deliverance came out, and there's another record store down the street that will definately have it, there shouldn't be a problem. But, yeah, it probably will be more widely available under Roadrunner.

I'm going to the Whitehall FYE, since nobody here, except like 3 other people are local, I'll explain with one sentence: IT'S F[color=white]U[/color]CKING CORPERATE BACKED MUSIC STORE THAT SOMEHOW TURNED INTO A METAL WAREHOUSE.

^^^ It's also horendously overpriced. I bought one CD there and swore never to do that again.

I got the joke.

I went to Sam Goody today just to be sure to get it tomorrow. I was looking around and I saw 5 different Opeth CDs in stock. It blew my mind since they only ever have BWP and the D's.

Then I saw a Porcupine Tree CD that wasn't In Absentia or Deadwing. Another shock. I bought Up the Downstairs :D.

I get to check out and the cashier has heard of and enjoys both PT and Opeth. It was the first time I have met anyone who likes either without me whoring the bands to them first.

It made me happy.

... and then I remembered I was going to get a new Opeth album the next day.
