InMyPlace, whose name is not only derived from the hit Coldplay single, is also in a band? And is doing a gig? Absolute coolness.

the only thing I've ever done that approximates a gig was play at my church coffee house doing Coldplay's Politik or act as filler at my school's coffeepalooza :upset:

Itll proberly be just a cover of somthing, i want to get one done on saterday or something, but my Rythem is geting a new guitar in a week so he wants me and other membet to go look at some.

My rythem is no goo, my lead makes all the riffs and hes starting to get sick of it, i just sit there looking happy.

Spectrum 09-14-2004 09:44 AM

Since my band is sort of in a phase between existence and non-existence, I'm doing a lot of solo piano work recently. I've worked out such songs as:
Coldplay:
-Don't Panic
-Shiver (mostly)
-Spies (mostly)
-Yellow
-Everything's Not Lost
-(bonus track) Life Is For Living
-Politik
-In My Place
-God Put a Smile On Your Face
-The Scientist
-Clocks
-Daylight
-A Rush of Blood to the Head

Radiohead:
-No Surprises
-Lucky
-The Tourist (mostly)

I write my own stuff as well, but a lot of the stuff I write is too hard to actually do at my current skill level.

-Mike

duffroxmysox 09-14-2004 09:45 AM

I take it you're a pianist then Mike? or do you play any other instrument?

Spectrum 09-14-2004 09:47 AM

I do play piano, yes, but I also sing, play guitar, and occasionally drums.

Untitled 09-14-2004 09:49 AM

Untitled 09-14-2004 10:04 AM

I jusrt thuaght more brill brit rock......

The darkness, Muse, Sterophonics, Ash, Feeder, Keane, LostProphets, :p McFly :p, Oasis, Placebo, Supergrass, and finaly Travis. all very good brit rock.

Edit- Mcfly are pop, but very good. :D

Spectrum 09-14-2004 10:08 AM

All right. More people whom I didn't know were Brit. Rock, and a couple I had forgotten that were.

Spectrum 09-14-2004 10:10 AM

You know what? I've been having such a good time playing "Lucky" (like I was for the past ten-fifteen minutes - I lost track, but I played it about three times), I think I'll record it. I have a friend who has studio equipment and they've offered to let me use it. I mean, right now there are several piano arrangements that I can pull off. I would love to hear how they sound on tape/CD.

Oh, and I forgot another one I arranged for piano-

Coldplay - "Moses"

Welsh counts. British refers to the whole British Isles. If he said "English", there would be a problem.

But, come on. I'm preaching to the choir and the priest here.
