Well I did, and i'm listening to it again. This particular recording has kind of a SRV feel.
Right then. If you have the chance get any of his albums (Feel This is my favorite), you wont be disapointed. |
I also thought Badmoon was older when I joined this thread, probably due to the avatars. I'm 17, the rest of you guys are really young :amaze:
I'm seeing The Surrogate Band on friday. Hope they're good. |
I'm 16 so i'm not to young compared to you. How old is badmoon?
|
Forty
17 here...I'm turning 18 in 3 months.
Getting back on topic here, has anyone here seen Boston live, because I'm about to go see them and I want to know what to expect
Yes, they played at SummerFest here and apparently sucked. They really are a studio band. A sweet studio band, but a studio band nonetheless. |
Yeah. Their guitarist is great on recording. But seems like he would be a little sloppy live (maybe, i've never seen them live).
Healey never misses a note. Unless he's doing improvs to make his live show better than the recording ;) |
guns n roses
guns n roses what are they considered
|
Probably hard-blues rock
|
Hard rock. I don't detect a ton of blues in their music.
|
^^^^
Theres lot of blues. At least in the early stuff. Alot of country music influences too. |
k then
|
Country Rock > Blues Rock
in my opinion. |
Country Rock > Blues Rock
in my opinion.
Steve Earle is country rock ;) He's god. :chug: I don't really care which is better. They're both great. |
Hydro > Cess
IMO. |
Country Rock > Blues Rock
IMO: Blues Rock > Country Rock |
That's funny, because you have a Bob Dylan avatar and a CCR username. Both more Country Rock than anything else.
|
What kind of bands are we classifying as country rock?
Countdown to Allmans...2 days |
A lot of the Eagles pre-Hotel California work was country rock. I normally can't stand country, but there are some exceptions.
|
That's funny, because you have a Bob Dylan avatar and a CCR username. Both more Country Rock than anything else.
if i could have a cool robert johnson avatar I would, though no one would recognise him. As for CCR, I think there are elements of both, i have heard the term "swamp rock". Bob dylan i say if folk rock, although to classify is only to degrade. |
ok ok, i admit it, i'm a classic rock nut. i love led zeppelin, the beatles, the who, eric clapton, the doors, and so on. most of the bands i listen to broke up years before i was born. at 17, nearly every song on my playlist is older than me. but is it just my imagination, or is classic rock experiencing sort of a revival. i am running into an increasing number of classic rock fans my age. at my school (an all boys high school), the school newspaper took a poll of everyone's favorite genre and band. led zeppeling got 5th and the beatles got 6th, behind that rap crap. classic rock made up a large percent of ppls favorite genre. is this just by me, or are other ppl noticing this too?
o and for u classic rock fans, the crime of the new century was that the Yardbirds new CD, Birdland, recieved no attention at all. that deserved a grammy, or 6. so are there any other classic rock fans out there, and even if ur not, have u been noticing somewhat of a revival in interest for that sort of music?
i agree once a few people in my school started listining to the cloassics many other people started noticing it but most of the songs they know are only upstream. but there has been a definite growth in the popularity in classic rock lately :chug: |
hey does anyone else here feel out of place since its rock and metal? i think metal should have its own category.
|
When I joined this forum (May 2003), this board has renued my hate for Metal.
|
you suck
|
I think the line between rock and metal in this forum is expanding. I think they should have separate categories, like the punk forum.
|
What kind of bands are we classifying as country rock?
Countdown to Allmans...2 days
Most of The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, The Eagles, The Byrds, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Buffalo Sprinfield, Neil Young, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Country Joe and The Fish, CCR, some Allman Brothers, and Elvis Presley. Obviously those are highlights, and I wouldn't be surprised if most of you didn't know a few. Well, that easily shows how underrated Country-Rock is. |
you suck
You lose MX. |
All this talk about country rock and blues rock has dragged on, let's talk about jazz rock. Great music IMO.
|
Jazz Rock is kind of rare, especially strait up Jazz Rock.
