So most of you are going to highschool now correct?

Foxfire 08-13-2004 08:50 PM

It would pwn everythign else if fireworks were legal here.

:upset:

I'ma be in 8th grade this year.

Bass+Fingers+Amp=Groove 08-13-2004 08:52 PM

Heh, my uncle usualy goes up to wisconson or indian to get some fireworks, if you go out to naperville or aurora, you can get away with it, luckily i have family out there.
And everything else.
I think every city has its perks...I'm proud to be from Boston.

I'm proud I don't say "r" and say "ah." It's not a car, it's a caah. It's not a park, it's a pahhk. I want to go to Hahhvahhd, but Harvard. Screw that. I say wicked as an adjective with a positive connotation, meaning "very."

I get crap for my accent ALL THE TIME.

I was in Florida, at Universal Studios, and some bitchy lady heard me talking to my friend, and I said something like "...it was wicked hahhd" or something, and she refused to let me on The Hulk until I said "Park the car in the Harvard Yard" with my accent...that was embarrassing...

They're illegal here, too. I order the chemicals offline (Skylighter.com, unitednuclear.com) and build my own. I make my own mortar shells and casings and stuff...it's so fun. Cops have yet to yell at me, and the FBI is yet to knock on my door :D

I <3 pyrotechnics/chemistry.

I usually just buy fireworks in New Hampshire and bring them home (if we go there, we stay for a few days, so it's not that suspicious).

That sucks :(

I knew this one woman who was from Boston and she ALWAYS said wicked. In fact, one week in the middle of the school year last year, I said "wicked" all the time. :p

e p 08-13-2004 08:57 PM

Theyre only illegal if people are around to hear/see you...

Heh, when my cousins from Cali come here, they're always saying "wicked cool" and things like that by the end of the week. Then they go home and get ragged on.

"SYNSE WEN IZ UR BASEBAWL TEEM CURZED LOLz1111!!!!!!!!!!1111one!!1?!?????????///?//??"

LAY OFF THE RED SOX. I <3 THEM!

I love Boston...

I'd like Chicago more if the girls my age and younger weren't idiots. Honestly...

Besides that, though, it's all good :) Except the nearest Sam Ash is sorta far, and the Guitar Centers here don't have any 6-string basses (not ONE).

Unfortunately, across the street there's a cop; there's also another one down the block, so I'm screwed.

Other than that, I agree with you.

"If no one sees it, it ain't illegal."

I wonder if Family Guy's on...

I went to guitar today and they actually had an Ibanez Sr506. I played it and ordered one too. Figures that it's on backorder until mid september.

Foxfire 08-13-2004 09:02 PM

What?!?! Which Guitar Center??!? The Arlington Heights one???

Bass+Fingers+Amp=Groove 08-13-2004 09:02 PM

well the girls my age arent idiots :p

e p 08-13-2004 09:02 PM

Well im not in Chicago. Im more in the lesser Chocago/burb area.

Nonetheless I light fire works all the time cause im on a nice quiet dead end street.

Foxfire 08-13-2004 09:03 PM

BFAG I know. Older girls = teh pwn. Hell even girls a YEAR older than me are awesome.

The girls my age are sterile. I honestly don't know a better way to describe them.
What?!?! Which Guitar Center??!? The Arlington Heights one???
I got to the Villa Park one and they have some nice Warwick Thumbs. 4's and 5's.

wardrobe malfunction 08-13-2004 09:04 PM

I think it's in Arlington heights. It's by Woodfield.

Foxfire 08-13-2004 09:05 PM

^ Ahh. There's one on Arlington Heights Rd., sort of on the way to the race track. There's also one sort of downtownish that's a bit smaller.

NEITHER of them had 6ers. They had 5ers (first place I encountered an SR505, WONDERFUL bass), but no 6ers.

Yeah girls my age are cool. Middle School girls are like "ew coodies", or afraid to tell boys they like them. Very immature.

wardrobe malfunction 08-13-2004 09:05 PM

I guess I got VERY lucky.
I think it's in Arlington heights. It's by Woodfield.
GAH what the hell, I went there and they said they didn't have any. :(

Guess I'll have to go sometime.

wardrobe malfunction 08-13-2004 09:07 PM

Well someone ordered one the night before and they got it from a different store.

Foxfire 08-13-2004 09:10 PM

Ohhh okay. Then that's understandable.

6-string basses = unpopular. FRETLESS 6-string basses = impossible to find at Guitar Center.

I'm not that pissed, though. When I graduate this year I'd like a Conklin GT-7, anyhow, and then see if I can't find a used Warwick Corvette 6er. *shrug*

bottlerocket 08-13-2004 09:10 PM

I wish I lived in Chicago to talk to you guys :upset:

I'm sure that if you lived in Chicago you'd go to the top school here and I'd know you through friends. ;)

At the moment my friend is the best bassist at the school, and there's only two other good bassists, and only one of the six bassists there (my friend included) plays a 5-string; there's nothing more? I'ma be the first 6+ player :D

He said there are kids there (the nerdy kids :p) that picked up bass to be cool.

Why the HELL would you pick bass if you wanted to be cool?

:upset:

wardrobe malfunction 08-13-2004 09:14 PM

All the bass players at my school suck.
