Have you herd Band of Gypsys? Its way better
|
Isn't Machine Gun on that CD? I love that song.
|
Have you herd Band of Gypsys? Its way better
Yes I have, and Electric Ladyland is far better. And when I say far, I mean that Band of Gypsys doesn't even come close. In fact, Machine Gun is really the only song on there that can compete with the songs on Electric Ladyland. |
Keep in mind you can list more than 10.
And check out my uber cool Mickey Hart avatar. |
Would they count for the list? Because then we will have people listing every sngle album they own.
|
Well, they just kind of guide lines, and mentions. But the list will without a doubt reflect our favorites.
And you act as though you cannot trust anyone in this thread to follow my instructions. |

all the songs on bands of gypsys can compete and are usually far better. but it sounds totally different from each other. jimi did things with band of gypsys that he was not able to do with the expierience. and it has jimis most amazing guitar work. :thumb: |
What do you mean? Are you making the list?
And, you should visit me and Miik  (Not really) EDIT: This is addressed to badmoon |
No, we all are, that is if we even do. We just want people to mention there favorite albums so we can recall good albums. We should all try to come to a unanomous decision.

its not only machine gun(althought probaly the best track). have you even heard who knows or changes or power to love. all those songs have so much more emotion put into them. and are much longer and may i say better than those in all along the watchtower.
|
Band of Gypsies - Power to Love > All
^The timing of the drums, and Cox's yell are perfect. And then the following solo is amazing. |

Yes, I have heard it, I own the **** thing. Look, Electric Ladyland has a fresh sound, he experiments more, and whats this about longer songs? I believe Voodoo Chile and 1983(A Merman I Should Turn To Be) are both over 13 minutes. I can't believe I'm having to defend one of the greatest albums in rock history. |
i just personally find a single song on electric ladyland that beats anything on band of gypsys. i suppose its just a preference sort of thing. yes i like the songs on electric ladyland just i dont feel they are up to the standards of band of gypsys
|
Crosstown Traffic
Rainy Day, Dream Away and Still Raining, Still Dreaming All Along The Watchtower 1983(A Merman I Should Turn to Be) Little Miss Strange(It's a good song, admit it) Voodoo Chile and Voodoo Child(Slight Return) House Burning Down Burning of the Midnight Lamp How can you beat that???? |
Yea Burning of the Midnight Lamp does rule.
|
well....
machine gun who knows power to love message to love changes we gotta live together |
This is a pointless arguement. Recommend both the **** albums for the list, everyone knows they're both good.
|
yea i think its gong nowhere...we're never gonna change each others opinion
|
well....
machine gun who knows power to love message to love changes we gotta live together
I don't think very highly of We Gotta Live Together....It's a bunch of screaming |
Fine. I would like to recommend Bitches Brew-Miles Davis and Imagine-John Lennon.
|
That's jazz, not Classic Rock.
|
Does anyone plan to actually make an offical final list? Or is this just posting random good albums?
Neil Young- freedom <---- put it in you canada hating bastards  |
That's jazz, not Classic Rock.
It's pretty close |
Sure it is, but try not to cross the line.
|
There is no line. Rock is a flexible genre.
