No, it's a gay label thing that doesn't exsist. It's just Power Violence/Emo. I was talking about retarded subgenres, where were you?
why do you feel the need to separate something with elements of 2 genres with a / deathgrind=a real genre emoviolence=a real genre you might as well say metalcore bands are heavy metal/hardcore if youre going to be that nit picky. |
I am familiar with jazz. what do you call the very non-metal parts that they do?
i call them breaks.
deathgrind=a real genre emoviolence=a real genre
No, they're not real genres. |
shhh guys i think cocaine is jewish lets not try to get sued here
|
i call them breaks.
And I'll continue to call them Jazzy Interludes. And to show my ignorance again, can someone tell me what the hell "emoviolence" is? |
And to show my ignorance again, can someone tell me what the hell "emoviolence" is?
presumably a mix of emo and power violence? |
No, they're not real genres.
i'd rather not say something is "death metal/grindcore" or "emo/power violence" or "death metal/metalcore". What's everyone's problem with contractions? |
presumably a mix of emo and power violence?
Oy, I'm loosing my touch. |

They're taking things too far. If you're a death metal band but you have a grind influence, you're still a death metal band. If you're a death metal band with hardcore influences, you're still a death metal band. It just gets ridiculous. Example? Fashioncore, Moshcore, Taqwacore, Skacore, Queercore, Digital Hardcore, Funkcore, Hatecore, Noisegrind, Goregrind, Pornogrind, Deathgrind |

It's not a problem with contractions, it's a problem with the genres not existing. |

Those are all fun ways to describe bands. I find them entertaining. I even made a genre on my iPod called Spazcore. |

You can use them to describe a band but that doesnt mean they exist as genres. |

True dat. |
Those are all fun ways to describe bands. I find them entertaining.
yeah, it's actually fun coming up with a genre to name a unique band, because sometimes you can squeeze 5 or 6 words into it. Although, that sort of thing is usually considered avant-garde, right? Not to mention the fact that deathcore and deathgrind are pretty much widely agreed to be genres. And even so, alot of the genres you mentioned (actually, are some of those even real? lol) are used by people who listen to music along the same lines as them so they can describe the difference between them. Someone who listens to jam rock isn't going to be able to tell death metal and deathcore apart, but the differences are pretty obvious to people who listen to things along those lines. |

It depends, I think something that doesn't fit into anything else at all, like Big Dumb Face, would be considered Avant-Garde. Gimme an example though! |

see its fun!
imaginary sonicscape I'd probably call avant-garde but it's mostly just psychedelic metal. You can't call it "reggae jazz metal" because there's one bar of reggae and some jazzy influences. |
