I like WD more overall, but AB is fantastic.
|
I don't like American Beauty, but I do like Workingman's Dead.

Just ignore this guy he'll be out of here soon.
I like WD more overall, but AB is fantastic.
That's what Moon thinks too. I mean WD is a fantastic album and all but I perfer AB for sure. It's more diverse IMO. Some of the songs in the middle of WD just resemble each other but WD does have "Dire Wolf" and it is a better road album.
I don't like American Beauty, but I do like Workingman's Dead.
Is that possible? :amaze: |
As far as that guitarist list, Richard Thompson should have been in the top five, not 17. He is pretty obscure, but well known in his field. I saw him in June, and I couldn't beleive my eyes. He would play rhythm lead and bass guitar at the same time, plucking with all of his fingers so fast you couldn't even watch. I was like  the whole time. He used to work with Hendrix and Page. Just phenomenal
Was Duane Allman that good? I always thought he played rhythm and Dicky Betts played lead, I guess he was replaced by Dicky I love American Beauty. It changed my life, which is something I can say of only AB and SPLHCB |
WD songs resembling eachother? Cumberland blues=Black Peter??~!?1 NO!
AB isn't the end all be all (operator) it has some weak songs/ the only weak one on WD (MAYBEEE) is high time :smoke: |
Magicbus, did you catch Live Rust in other music?
|

Don't get the wrong idea, I am infuriated by this whole issue that the gov't is evidently quite racist, has made fools of us in front of the whole world and tries to get away with it by saying that it is "not the time to talk about these issues" as the Hmeland Security director said. I am anticipating some sort of terrorist attack in the near future, and I am looking forward to the possibility that our government will take a more sociallist turn, instead of pretending to care about this **** when they let people die there because they have no financial gain I am also enraged that they knew this whole thing was going to happen, and nobody would help build effective levees, and that they did not coordinate an adequate evacuation system. A dicision that cost hundreds of lives. |
New Orleans is Sinking would be too obvious so I won't name it.
I dunno....Singing in the Rain? Hahaha. Sorry, it was so lame I had to laugh. I'm sure by the time I finish writing this post there'll be like a hundred decent songs named...and the best I could think of was Singing in the Rain. I dunno. I'm listening to Dark Star at a very surprising volume. I was just in my room, so I turned it up loud enough to hear it. Now I'm back at my computer and I haven't turned it down. Wonderful song though. Live/Dead is my favourite Grateful Dead album. |
Yea, it's embarassing how we didn't seem prepared for this at all.

Probably only really to canadians though. |
^^ yea , that is true.
Edit : i meant lunches comment. |

Don't you love how Bush is pushing to get another supreme court justice in before the next congressional elections? Skeezy basted got all of his photo-ops as far away from the Superdome as possible. He could visit the troops in Iraq of course, but he's afraid of his fellow Americans |
Probably only really to canadians though.
Just because I'm quebecois, which hardly makes me canadian, doesn't give you a hall pass for racism! Bob Dylan wouldn't want you making fun of dead hurricane victims, but i might be right that led zepplin would not want it either :( |
During Sept. 11th, ClearChannel made a list of songs to avoid playing due to the sensitivity of the issue at hand. WHat do you think would be on that list today?
I think: Like a Hurricane When the Levee Breaks
Hurricane A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall Ain't Got No Home Blowin' In the Wind Down In the Flood Gimme Shelter Hurricane Eye Let It Rain Mother Nature's Son My City of Ruins My Hometown Simple Twist of Fate The Wind Cries Mary Walk Out in the Rain Whirlwind Some of these suck, but some are pretty good. Edit- Just so everyone knows, I'm not making fun of the matter. I think Bush should be impeached for taking a 5 week vacation and not sending help right a way. It's terrible, the city will never be the same. |
Kanye!!
If it happened in Florida, it would have been different. I loved the look on Meyers's face when that happened :p EDIT: Smoke on the Water |
The sad thing is, here in Canada (front page news even) there are stories about all the people who went down to New Orleans on vacation and are trapped there now. I guess sad has double meanings here, because why on Earth would you decide to take a vacation to a place when you know it's gonna have like a huge hurricane. Surely they didn't just decide to drive to New Orleans one day without even like looking on the Internet for resorts or hotels or restaurants or anything. Plus it's not like they wouldn't have money to transport them safely away once they did find out the hurricane was coming...they had to go home eventually.
Darn, Dark Star just ended. I'm gonna go have a shower, it's nearing suppertime and I like to be clean when I eat supper. I'm still in my boxers. I'm sure I'm not the only one though. |

And the best I could do was Singing in the Rain! I thought hard about it for like five minutes, I even checked all the songs on my computer (obviously not well enough, because I have almost all those songs). Wait, I got one. I searched through all my Winzip albums....would Run For Your Life be reasonable? |
Magicbus, did you catch Live Rust in other music?
No, but I'll get it now. Thanks :thumb: |
