it's pretty ****ing cool tbh, caecus is amaaaazing

every month or so when they're brought up in this thread I go back to their myspace page to see if I somehow missed something the previous times I've listened to them and every time I'm amazed how ****ing boring they are

it definitely sounds nothing like most death metal aside from gorguts' and immolation's weirder stuff and maybe some newer origin so i totally understand why jason does not liketh it

though i rekon you need to actually download the entire album, sit in a comfy chair and listen to the entire thing on headphones

jus listening on myspace doesnt cut it, they aren't an individual song kind of band

well I like gorguts and immolation a lot, main difference is they have memorable song writing and, get this RIFFS

ulcerate has plenty of great and cleverly written riffs, they just kinda flow into each other really quickly so their songs seem like musical run-on sentences at first but trust me it's a grower

i seem to remember you used to hate gorguts - obscura and now you say you like it. it's kind of like that.

I didn't get it at first but realized that fact. This isn't a case of me not getting Ulcerate, it bores me silly, and that's not going to change with repeated listens.

Same, and I love everything else Gorguts have released but Obscura is a mess.

w/e I think they suck absolute balls and won't bother giving them a 6th or 7th chance because they are one of the most boring 'death metal' experiences I've had
