Haha, fair enough Britton bit of a fan i take it :chug:, can't wait to hear the new album as much as i wish it to be 80's thrash i heavily doubt it will be, still im really interested to hear what Rob has to add to their sound, because he's one hell of a bassist. (completely unrelated) i got my labret pierced yesterday, it hurts like hell today haha, anyone have any idea when it'll stop aching :smash: i notice kirk has one as well :D

Kind of a random post. You guys might or might not find it remotely funny. I'm bored, and when I'm bored things can easily make me laugh.

hybrids_of_steel 12-08-2005 10:34 PM

I am 15 and I am a normal person i dont have tatoos/piercings i dont have long hair i dont smoke weed and i dont skip school...ok..under rare circumstances. I was wondering are there any normal metallica fans? People at school ask me what I listen to. I say metallica and they get a look on their face as if a dick just came out of my ear. They say " You dont look like a metallica fan at all, Holy @#$&!!!!".
Now I am not white i am from india but i lived in england and canada all my life so im kind of a coconut white on the inside BROWN on the outside, and mabye this confuses people and makes them think i listen to some punjab music. Now not to brag but i am pretty good on guitar ive been playing a year and can play almost all the metalllica songs and solos, but the question is will music fans react as my peers do if i one day go on stage???

mr black 12-08-2005 10:57 PM

Dude... the music you listen to shouldn't determine how you look and vica versa... who gives a **** what other people think. Your being you and thats what matters, And congrats at knowing a lot of songs and solo's after a year i couldn't play that much :chug:

I am almost 19 and pretty much the same as yourself, but if that is rare to find among Metallica fans, wouldn't we be considered abnormal Metallica fans?

Yes, I know music doesn't reflect on looks, but oh well, I felt like posting something.

PepsiMetal 12-09-2005 01:02 AM

I am 18, don't smoke, no tattoos or pierecings, short hair, good grades in school (well decent), etc.. So I'm pretty much a normal metallica fan.

Anyways, their next album will probably be something they haven't done yet as each of their albums seem to be different.

when i told one of my friends metallica was one of my favourite bands he asked if i was suicidal. haha
i dont get it, theyre not death metal, or gothic in any way. all these twats listen to nirvana, and act as if im a freak.

Why would listening to death metal make you suicidal? You're basically saying what they are.

Kyle 12-09-2005 02:19 AM

I'm normal.....as opposed to people with long hair and tattoo which are abnormal right?

ThrashMaster27 12-09-2005 02:22 AM

I don't think there's such thing as a default Metallica fan now, as they have such a broad range of fans.

W.M.A 12-09-2005 02:31 AM

i was talking about sterrotypes...if there was a genre ud expect ingorant ppl to think was associated with suicide it would be one of the darker types.
i obviously understand that listening to that music doesnt mean nething
i was talking about sterrotypes...if there was a genre ud expect ingorant ppl to think was associated with suicide it would be one of the darker types.
i obviously understand that listening to that music doesnt mean nething
Music can have a big impact on suicide. I'm not saying heavy metal or any specific genre but I'm sure that music can be influential in suicide. Lyrics by a band which are depressing/suicidal can bring down somebodys mood or whatever, but anyone who commits suicide because of music is pretty insane.

Leper 12-09-2005 02:39 AM

If they think you're suicidal because you listen to Metallica then chances are they haven't even heard of death metal.

W.M.A 12-09-2005 02:52 AM

i think they believe all metal is the same

XxRoycexX 12-09-2005 03:25 AM

most of Metallica's songs that are in E they have to now play in Eb because james's voice is getting too low.

timmySmi 12-09-2005 08:35 AM

Sepultura - Hated Aside

A very specail guest appears on that song which I've ownly just recently found out about and it f*cking rocks.

Huber 12-09-2005 08:46 AM

I think if some douche listens to music, then commits suicide, there was much wrong with him before he there was something wrong with that person far before the music happened.

Joe 12-09-2005 09:12 AM

I was the only one who posted for a day and a half. I go to bed and then the Metallica thread gets posted in like crazy! Aye...
most of Metallica's songs that are in E they have to now play in Eb because james's voice is getting too low.
That and they've got some weirder tunings on St. Anger. But yea, live they always play down at least a step
I think if some douche listens to music, then commits suicide, there was much wrong with him before he there was something wrong with that person far before the music happened.
Agreed.

They always have or they will start ?

Joe 12-09-2005 09:17 AM

Well, since at least S&M live they've always tuned half down.

Stormrider 12-09-2005 09:18 AM
Well, since at least S&M live they've always tuned half down.
Oh okay..The only time I saw then live was on cunning stunts...and they werent tuned down half a step there..well atlest I dont think.

Joe 12-09-2005 09:19 AM

Back in those days they actually did a couple of shows tuned up (which was really bad). Then, and Live Sh*t they have it normal tuning. Since it's been half down

Why would they do a show uptuned ?

Live Sh*it is realy expensive last time I saw it. I saw it at 109 canadian dollars.

Joe 12-09-2005 09:23 AM

109? I'm not good at conversions, how much is that in USD? It was $50 when I bought it. It's very good though

I don't know why they did it. I'll send you one of it, email?

That blows. $90? That's crazy. Try Amazon.com. The set and then shipping should even be less than $90. That's very overpriced.
