love them both, haven't listened to this in a while though.

used to listen to them quite a bit though (especially this kayo dot album)

Jaundice 11-12-2009 12:34 AM

it's 20 minute long songs, mostly simple and bleak synth melodies with spacey **** going on in the background

like being really really bored on mars

Mirage is a pretty sweet album by Klaus Schultze

Meatplow 11-12-2009 02:13 AM

Yeah I gotta get me some more Krautrock. i've heard very little but what I have is good

Angmar 11-12-2009 02:14 AM

I don't really know much about Kraut Rock, to me it just sounds like nice electronic ambient haha.

Meatplow 11-12-2009 02:16 AM

well according to Alex there is a lot of ambient and electronic work in krautrock

i do not claim to be any expert on the genre, I just thought it was european prog-rock

Jaundice 11-12-2009 02:19 AM

Krautrock is basically just the underground music scene in Germany during the 70's, it's not a specific genre

You've got bands like Can and Ash Ra Tempel that were heavily progressive, lots of new age folk stuff, ambient like Tangerine Dream, and then there's some industrial stuff like Faust and Kluster.

i might need to draft you a small essential albumz list hazard

Meatplow 11-12-2009 02:23 AM

it should be right, I have a tonne of recs off people and I can just research the bigger names anyway.

i'll enter a phase before long

Jaundice 11-12-2009 02:24 AM

several month krautrock binge turned me from an innocent christian boy into a depraved person tbh

Meatplow 11-12-2009 02:25 AM

I was never an innocent christian boy so this should be no problem for me

Jaundice 11-12-2009 02:29 AM

if you're debauched to begin with you might be too much of a rebel by the end
