It actually kind of makes sense in Japan, though.

I mean...it's really very hard to drive over ~35kph [that was the top speed for us, generally it was slower..unless it was 2 in the morning]. There's too many cars. It's moving so slowly that I think you'd actually have to try to hit a pedestrian.

The only one of those facts is the cost. UK sucks. you probably pay more in insurance over the years then you do for a nice, brand new car.
Down here in the south west, it's very rural. Not having a car, or some sort of transport means you either have to walk, get a bus, which there probably isn't one, or just stay where you are and hope for the best.

England has a smaller land area than almost half the states. The UK is about 40 times smaller than the U.S., but the population is only about 5 times smaller. This will naturally lead to more crowding in the U.K. and thus a lack of need for individual transportation.

She says I could drum for her, but this would almost certainly mean me leaving college in order to play on her tour later this year. Do you guys think it's worth the risk of leaving college?

Sorry pal. When she signs with a record company, she has NO SAY in who the musicians are. The producer and management does. They will prob higher session players they already have on a list of their own contacts.

THat said, try and see how it goes, and see my above comment about a contract and lawyer.


All that said, if it's less then 1,500/week.. don't drop out of school.
