I was wondering if any other bands have a simillar name close to metallica. Such as Exotica, ect ect. names with "ica" at the end of them.

metalhead_matt 12-06-2005 03:26 AM
Yeah, but generally speaking LA can be pretty freakin' crazy!!!

You should've seen the mosh pit that was goin' on when I saw SYL and FF.

I can only imagine what it would be like if thrash bands like Slayer and Metallica played here again.
you should check out the scene here in blackpool

wat a bizarre and left of field question...

scariest mosh pit ive been was for slipknot at big day out 2005...thank god i dont like their music and had no issue leaving...

incidentally, chu ne chance of me bathing in the glory of cliffs phenomenol bass playing in the next decade?
Im stuck on the song AJFA right now. Such a good song..
it's a cool song but seems to drag on towards the end.
I found that kirk's soloing was the best here. It was simplistic yet highly effective. If you don't believe me listen to the slow solo to the Four Horsemen.
The solos sound really odd on that atlbum, the tone barely sounds distorted, it's odd but still quite cool. Motorbreath is my favorite 'Tallica song right now.

mr black 12-06-2005 09:14 AM

Definatly one of their strongest live songs :D

Jev 12-06-2005 09:37 AM

Motorbreath? I've only heard it on the Unnamed Feeling EP live.

Kyle 12-06-2005 10:25 AM

it's really good on Cunning Stunts.

Jev 12-06-2005 10:29 AM

They play it on Cunning Stunts? Jeez, I can't remember. Was it part of the medley?

Kyle 12-06-2005 10:59 AM
They play it on Cunning Stunts? Jeez, I can't remember. Was it part of the medley?
no, it was on the second disk. So that's the encore I guess.

He isnt exacly in his twenties or thirties anymore either though..

W.M.A 12-06-2005 08:49 PM

granted but i saw john fogerty a week ago and his voice was strong as ever.

Joe 12-06-2005 08:57 PM

Yea but he doesn't scream

NP: MoP from S&M, the best version of this song PERIOD

W.M.A 12-06-2005 09:00 PM

i just wish theyd sing all the prechorus (come crawling faster etc.) they do in live s hit: seattle but i think they leave out the solos in that version.

I think its cool listening to the crowd sing it. I hate it when they do the short version, the one that ends after the 2nd chorus. There's no point in playing the song it they're only going to play half of it. It's like playing Stairway to Heaven until the fourth minute.

Thats what they do in cunning stunts...the only live dvd I have. I wished they didnt.

Aw3someman 12-06-2005 09:07 PM

They leave out the solo b/c Kirk has no idea how he did the last part of it. He was doing some improv in the studio and did something weird so now they don't do it b/c they can't replicate it

What are you talking about?

W.M.A 12-06-2005 09:53 PM

wat about S&M, he played it fine there

Britton 12-06-2005 10:01 PM

I think you all are talking about the MOP solo so correct me if I'm wrong. IN guitar world of this month he said that his hand slipped and fretted the string
on the neck pick up and that's how he got that high pitched sound. and he also
said that he is yet to recreate that perfectly

James's voice is amazing throughout that whole concert, love the vocal effects on 'no leaf clover', and the intro to 'one' and 'battery' are awsome :chug:

thats true, but now he uses (from what i can see), a natural harmonic and bend on the 3rd fret, it recreates it to an extent. sorry bout the double post.
