Six Foot Revolver 09-06-2005 02:57 PM
Jake : That is true, but i have changed quite alot. My exploration of the Folk/Ambient Black Metal genre especially has made me quite elitist.
It's no problem I am just pointing out that the person who would most like to join is the person who raged a crusade against it :p.

Arucard 09-06-2005 03:02 PM
Yeah. If they didn't have so little material released so far they would easily be one of my favorite bands. I still can't believe we're the only ones around here though! With a band like that I figured they'd be really popular around MX. Oh well, I guess that just means that when they release their second album and 5,000,000 people realize how amazing they are we'll be the ones who can say we've loved them from the start.
Thats true. If they add some more melody, they will be a very popular Melodic Death Metal band. At the minute, they are very brutal for Melodic Death, but i hope they don't go more Melodic, i like them how they are.

Lord Abortion 09-06-2005 03:03 PM

Yeah, under careful Death Head tutelage, Joe is quite the knowlegable poster over there.
You still have work to do, however, Joe-san :p

Arucard 09-06-2005 03:04 PM

Haha, i know more about some genres of Extreme Metal than you dude.

:p

Taste_My_Scythe 09-06-2005 03:04 PM
Me and you are such Arsis whores
You didn't use to be 88_fingers_joe, by any chance...

Arucard 09-06-2005 03:05 PM

Yes i did Leah, why do you ask?

Taste_My_Scythe 09-06-2005 03:07 PM
Yes i did Leah, why do you ask?
Ok.
Then you were the one who got me into Arsis.

I love how heavy they are. Something for people who love melodic and technical music as well as people who prefer more extreme stuff. The only thing I hope they change is James' solo tone, which I found very weak and feeble sounding. It was odd. He's one of my favorite vocalists in metal right now though.
Ok.

What about me? You know, the one who uploaded several songs and gave several paragraphs of info on them? :( I made a huge deal about them in the CoB thread way back when.

Arucard 09-06-2005 03:09 PM

I lost track of how many times i whored Arsis to people. Me and Shadows were always at it.

And Shadows : To an extent i agree, but the solo tone on Wholly Night was incredible. It was the best solo in DM i have ever heard.

NJMetalMeister 09-06-2005 03:11 PM
Dammit, I should have realized that joke would have failed because I'm the only person here who knows who Living Colour is :(
A better band for the joke is God Forbid.

True story, a few years back, god forbid was opening a show, and a large portion of the band is black, as they are setting up you hear a bloke yelling "God Forbid is playing? I LOVE BLACK METAL!"

got a good laugh

As much as the tone bothered me throughout the ntire album, that was a fucking amazing solo. I hope they go with even longer and crazier solos in the new stuff. I felt like they were holding back throughout the whole album and Wholly Night was the only glimpse of what they can really do. Their riffs are equally as good as their solos. And since A Diamond for Disease os over 12 minutes, it has to be jam-packed full of riffs and solos. \m/ (><) \m/ I can't fucking wait.

Shattered_Future 09-06-2005 03:13 PM

Arsis is ok...there's a lot better MDM bands out there though.

Man, first day of school is so fucking BORING! Although this year, for the first time ever, i actually have somebody I know in all of my classes...

Music theory teacher is pretty laid back...Spanish teacher is awesome (he likes Tool and King Crimson, among others), and the rest seem ok.

Summer's over though... :upset:

Arucard 09-06-2005 03:14 PM

What MDM is better than Arsis Shattered?

Always thinking I overlook you, babe. /shakes head Tsk tsk.
I remember, and the uploads were great because I only had one song back then.

NP: Living Dead Beat - Children of Bodom

Arucard 09-06-2005 03:17 PM

You called someone on the internet babe.

Thats wierd.

:amaze:

I actually didn't know I did that until you mentioned it. hmm.
It's a habit unfortunately.

Arucard 09-06-2005 03:19 PM

I wouldn't do it when the other guys are around, you know how much attention they lavish on you.

Shadows 09-06-2005 03:20 PM
Arsis is ok...there's a lot better MDM bands out there though.
Sounds like I should make an appointment for you to meet Mr. Meatgrinder.
What MDM is better than Arsis Shattered?
There aren't any. He foolishly lies.

It's nice to get some recognition once in a while. :)

Cain 09-06-2005 03:20 PM
The irony is the fact that out of all of MX, Joe was probably the most anti death to poseurs.
I think he was just vehemently anti-Dargon. :p

EDIT: Wow, Leah's here!

:attention:

Arucard 09-06-2005 03:21 PM

That i was, although now i wish he was back in some ways. He got me into Arsis and Argholsent, two bands i really like now, but now im more into PM, his mindless Angra bashing would anger me.

Double edged sword really.

Hi there! :D

Shadows 09-06-2005 03:24 PM

^^^ You called me babe on a popular public forum.

Arucard 09-06-2005 03:24 PM

So, its my Melodic Hardcore bands first gig on Saturday, and a guy from the local newspaper is going to review us. I have a reputation for being crazy on stage with a guitar from previous bands, so im gonna bust out some cool moves for the journalist dude (behind the head solo, mainly), and it should go well.

I sent Cain our first song aaagggeess ago.

Shadows 09-06-2005 03:25 PM

I'm not so good at playing while moving around. :(

Cain 09-06-2005 03:28 PM

I remember that. :) That was during the Ramsey/Cain/Joe/Cjborton original music whoring period. Good times.

I need to work on moving around while playing. Ideally, I would like to have as much energy as Steve Vai.

Arucard 09-06-2005 03:28 PM

For some reason i can play basically all the stuff i know whilst headbanging/going generally mental. My faverouite is Slash poses whilst i have my foot on a monitor

Lunch 09-06-2005 03:28 PM

Sorry to interupt here, but is 2112 worth 6$?

I'd like to hear one of your songs, whenever you feel like uploading one. Good luck at the gig!

Its worth as much as you have to pay. That album is a masterpiece of music. 2112 and Passage To Bankock are so good live.
