Sounds incredibly boring.
|
But you're actually doing it so it's more interesting than just hearing about it, but yeah, it's monotonous and you don't know if you did it right until you're finished. Which today was like 90 or 120 minutes.
And we were WAY off. For our measurements, you are allowed to be off by .05 ft, and we were off by like 1.7 ft. |
Probably not as boring as writing a 10 minute speech.
|
Tomorrow in my lab I get to bombard a switch with radiation, woo
There are a whole bunch of different things.
You can use a 100ft steel tape to measure distances. You stretch it out and put a stake in the ground at the end of the tape, then move the tape on and so on. Today we were doing leveling, which deals with height above sea level. You start from a known benchmark and one guy stands somewhere else with a rod sticking straight up and you look through this machine and get the height reading, and then move the machine and do it again. Then you leave the machine there and move the rod and do the same, and so on. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Levelling_rod http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surveying
gotcha seriously those 2 guys literally just said "it's like ****ing hiking and ****, you just walk around the woods measuring **** and **** like that" |
Hiking rules.

Words > Measurements Although I can see why you'd think public speaking is a bitch. |

I had to do a Valedictory address at my academy graduation. Writing it was fun, giving it sucked cause a lot of it had to do with my wife and daughter but they couldn't make it. |

Meat pie is ****ing gross. Some things should never be combined.
Meatplow, on the other hand, is delicious. |
Whilst the first statement is false the latter is undeniably true. :)

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article4749183.ece
Congrats on stepping back into the 12th century, England. |
ISLAMIC law has been officially adopted in Britain, with sharia courts given powers to rule on Muslim civil cases.
why couldn't the British government do this before?
The government has quietly sanctioned the powers for sharia judges to rule on cases ranging from divorce and financial disputes to those involving domestic violence.
Why do people of muslim faith get a seperate court system, and what happens when a muslim and a non-muslim come into a legal suit?
Previously, the rulings of sharia courts in Britain could not be enforced, and depended on voluntary compliance among Muslims.
Why the **** not? |
