Are you an Opeth fan? I am, they are one of the influences for a few different sections in this song.
I'm a huge Opeth fan! If the song sounds anything at all like Opeth, I'm certain that I would like it.

fishbulb' 03-24-2006 05:59 PM

Opeth? Is it death/heavy metal?

Tyr 03-24-2006 06:08 PM

Opeth are kind of hard to classify. I would say that they play progressive metal with death metal influences, but there's lots of other stuff in their songs as well. Martin Lopez, the drummer, incorporates a lot of latin style drumming and also some jazz.

fishbulb' 03-24-2006 06:09 PM

Cool.

Goin' go GC today, gonna buy a 12" Wuhan China for $12. You seriously can't lose on that deal.

Futuro 03-24-2006 06:11 PM
Opeth? Is it death/heavy metal?
I don't even like Metal all that much, but they are one of my favorite bands. Hard to classify.

Win A Rabbit 03-24-2006 07:40 PM

so i have a dilemma here.

my friends were thinking about going to this one girl's party tonight. i was 50/50 on it, since the majority of the people that are going to be there are jocks and such, and the last few times we've gone to jock infested parties, it's been real lame. just a bunch of "hey, who wants to fight me? i'm so tough, i'll fight anyone" nonsense. you know, testosterone. then i started warming up to the idea, since we have nothing else planned for tonight. so now i'm back at 50/50. what do you guys think?

DuckinFutch8 03-24-2006 07:44 PM

just go, it's bound to be better than staying at home...

Loyton 03-24-2006 07:44 PM

fishbulb' 03-24-2006 07:49 PM

So i bought my china, haven't played it yet, but i'm holding it. I'm gonna test it out.

Loyton 03-24-2006 07:54 PM
So i bought my china, haven't played it yet, but i'm holding it. I'm gonna test it out.
Wouldnt recommend that really, but for your sake I hope its good. Chinas are almost random in sound quality, I consider it a nessesity to test them out, even above other cymbals! But its sweet you got one, and you will probably dig it.

about 20 minuntes left on the voting polls.

Futuro 03-24-2006 08:00 PM

Hey Loyton Goodjob with the drum comp.

Has anyone ever seen that movie?
The first two and a half hours are awfully boring, except the execution of Rasputin, but the ending is FANTASTIC.
Only one daughter is really hot. No idea what her name is, but she's got long black hair and wonderfully pale skin and big blue eyes. I wanted to see her just get it on with Anastasia so bad.
But all these officers bust in with pistols and shoot the whole Romanov family and it's sweet! They didn't show the bullets going through, but it was still awesome.

fishbulb' 03-24-2006 08:28 PM

For $12 bucks you seriously CANT lose.

It's pretty quiet, actually. It sounds real good if you choke it (you hit it then immediately grab with hand). But letting it ring gets an annoying overtone. But still, $12.

Never used it, But if I had that I wouldnt need to use a mic for recording. By the looks of it you can plug it and directly feed the effects into the computer.

Double Bass Jim 03-24-2006 11:38 PM

Yeah that pandora is GREAT

I tried the ax1500 and it has the same chip in it as the pandora it sounds really great.

And yeah faith you could with that, thats the only modeler i've seen with a real tube in it. It changes from A to AB to to mimic the actual amp it's modeling. All the reviews said it's better and more organic and real sounding then the pods and the rest of the "digital" ones.

Extremely authentic sounds

I just saved the newest session file for a full days work. Made me crack up for how long it took to seperately save each file.

Maggot Dream 03-25-2006 12:47 AM

Mmmm....Vox.....I have a Vox amp. It's amazing.

Epiphender 03-25-2006 12:51 AM

I played with a Vox wah for a few weeks. THAT was amazing.

The little 15 watt practice amp I tried out a lot was GREAT too. I really wish I'd gone for it instead of my Fender.

Maggot Dream 03-25-2006 12:52 AM

I use a Vox wah pedal too. Thing of beauty right there.
