Technically? He may be the worst.
he's probably better than Page, but definitely below the others. I can't speak for the others but I voted for him just because i enjoy his playing the most. I won't pretend that he is the most skilled, but I feel his playing just relaxes me and just enjoy listening to it.

I was also listening to Comfortably Numb at the time which may have skewed my opinion. ;)
Right, so I'm going to be putting up that Zappa album soon, for those who want it.

Seriously?

I think Gilmour is the most melodic guitar on the list, maybe not the fastest, or the most inventive, and his solo albums weren't that special....he's still one of my favourite guitarists. (unfortunately for him...Hendrix was also in the poll).

Walrus Gumboot 05-09-2005 05:45 PM
I should post this in the Beatles thread but I don't care.

I just got All Things Must Pass.

I'm ripping it onto iTunes now.
You'll love it, "What is Life" is so good it might blow your head up... just to let you know

jpj 05-09-2005 05:54 PM

All Things Must Pass is badass. I especially like the faster songs like Wah-Wah and Thanks for the Pepperoni.

He probably is better than Page; his compositions are at least, IMO.

jpj 05-09-2005 06:22 PM

He is definitely better compositionally, but Page is better technically, which I don't think matters as much.

Broken Arrow 05-09-2005 06:44 PM

I have All Things Must Pass on viynl and love it dearly.

I also have Wired and Rough and Ready(I think thats the name) by Jeff Beck on viynl but I've only listened to Wired so far.

Rough & Ready has kind of a Soul/Funk feel to it. But it's a good Beck album, one of my favorites.

I like the sounds of that.
