Well I started with Peyote Road, and I've fallen in love with them... plus they're fairly attractive girls too! So I'd recommend that as a starting point, although I only know that and one other EP at the moment. What I've heard is some really organic, psychedelic drone music... and the girl who does vocals reminds me at times of the vocalist from the Cocteau Twins, and also from Dead Can Dance if you know those bands. Diggin' it immensely man, I'm downloading another of their albums as I write. Maybe someone else knows them better than I do here and can help you further, but there's some links on sordomusic if you're liking the sound of it. they're playing live with Sun Araw in a couple of weeks, can't wait for that. |
Sun Araw are great live.
Everything before Island Diamonds is how Bukowski described them; Island Diamond is a stylistic change for them, they add dub elements to their normal droney sound. My favorite thing they've ever done is a colab with Robedoor called Hunted Gathering. Its harrowing. |
Ah excellent, Island Diamonds is the one I just got. I'll get that collab with Robedoor too.

Destroyer- Trouble In Dreams
Beach House- Devotion Dirty Projectors- Bitte Orca Peter, Bjorn & John- Living Thing Jens Lekman- Night Falls Over Kortedala Method Man & Redman- Blackout! 2 The Mountain Goats & John Vanderslice- Moon Colony Bloodbath Department Of Eagles- "No One Does It Like You" The John Vanderslice songs on Moon Colony are absolutely incredible, dont care for any of Darnielle's tracks really except for the last song but "Columns Pillars Steps" has an incredible melody. My friend played the new Dirty Projectors today and it was ****ing awesome, never cared for them but the new album is one of the best I've heard this year |
Because it IS one of the best this year. Amazing album.
|
^^I'm not so sure, I thought it was alright but not as spectacular as my friend made out. I really wanted to like it. I thought there were two stand-out songs and the rest were average to good.
|
the afghan whigs - gentlemen
lautrec - 8 songs |
the beach boys vs. j dilla - in the key of dee
|
The Evens - Get Evens
|
Right now, I'm really digging MuteMath, The Black Keys, and Barcelona. By the way, how great is it that Kings of Leon is finally getting some recognition in the States?!?! I know they had a great following in Europe for a good while, but its nice to see their success finds its way back home.

taking back sunday, and animal collective.

Really anxious about their new album. "David" sounds kind of awkward. |
'Person Pitch' is one of the gayest records of all time.
Yeah, I always feel so happy and comforted after listening to it. It's like a blanket of happy feelings just getting draped over me. |
No, I mean it sucks.
|
i can't imagine it being gayer than that hercules and love affair album but i never listened to panda bear

Minus The Bear
