does that make sense? Or am I tired.
I was thinking the exact same thing! |
Lord of the Flies isn't that bad. The movie sucks.
does that make sense? Or am I tired
It could. It's easier to make something louder by recording it backwards. Maybe just the first note, but anything besides that would be dumb.
So are parts of MOP, just before the laughter.
That's what it is! Do you know what notes? |
how do you know who play the guitar solo. hammet or hetfield???
|
Metallica Kick ***
|
how do you know who play the guitar solo. hammet or hetfield???
James has very pretty rock solos...Hammett tends to be more thrashy and Metal Hence James solo's on later albums. and hammett's on earlier albums |
how do you know who play the guitar solo. hammet or hetfield???
Master of Puppets there are two solos, they both play one. |

Various websites, shows, liner notes, etc. (And what Brit said)
Metallica Kick ***
Yes they do
Master of Puppets there are two solos, they both play one.
No, I'm fairly sure they're both Kirk's. Usually any solo that is played live is played by the writer and the recorder. |
Hey Joe check my concert review
it was awsome |

Hence James solo's on later albums. and hammett's on earlier albums
Actually Kirk still plays a big chunk of the solos on the later albums. |
Actually Kirk still plays a big chunk of the solos on the later albums.
Well yes but it's still very appereant which one is playing on albums like Load and Reload |
Well Hetfield didn't have any on the first albums. All of his solos came later, so you can make that generalization even though Kirk still has more later
The Trivium review? I read it. I wanted to go so badly! |
Kirk is basically Wah.
|
Kirk is basically Wah.
You can't say that. There's probably only a handful up until the Black Album. There's really only a few until then. |

The Trivium review? I read it. I wanted to go so badly!
You missed it? dang that sucks man Yea Kirk has more....cause he's the lead guitarirst...that's the only reason /looks shifty |
No, I'm fairly sure they're both Kirk's. Usually any solo that is played live is played by the writer and the recorder.
On S&M James plays the first solo in Master of Puppets, and then Kirk plays the second faster more thrashy solo. |

yeah, but i was refering to live stuff. |
On S&M James plays the first solo in Master of Puppets, and then Kirk plays the second faster more thrashy solo.
When I saw them live and on the various DVD's I have Kirk plays both And yes, RARELY in recording does Kirk use the wah pedal (excluding the Black Album) Off to bed, goodnight everyone  |
Kirk is basically Wah.
Kirk has said that the wah is an extension of himself. But he doesn't just use wah, he is an excellent guitarist. |
Good night Joe
I think I remember a video of Metallica at woodstock where James played the S&D solo....but that was a long time ago |
Kirk has said that the wah is an extension of himself. But he doesn't just use wah, he is an excellent guitarist.
I know he plays more than wah, but we were talking about solo's, Kirk's live soloing is basically wah. That's how i difference James soloing from Kirk. |
Naw not me....James's style is so different from Kirk and it's more then wah
Kirk isn't just wah! He's a great soloist. |
Kirk isn't just wah! He's a great soloist.
All of his solos past the Black Album, barring the S&M version of Outlaw Torn, have been wah-filled garbage. Sorry to break your heart like that, bud. Hell, most of the songs he does the solos on live now are wah-filled. Coincidence? I think not |
Kirk is a good guitarist, but as much of a fanboy as i am i do believe he could lay off the wah sometimes. The interlude (first solo) in MOP is played by both James and Kirk at the same time, then kirk resumes the first riff before the triads, james does his solo, then they both go back into the 18th or so fret riff... settled.

Interlude Clean: James
Interlude Harmony: James and Kirk Interlude Solo: James (w/ Kirk doing Interlude Clean part) Interlude Harmony: James and Kirk Pre-Solo (Master, Master, Where's those Dreams I've been after?): James and Kirk Fast Solo: Kirk I believe that's the order it goes live, and on the album. |
Could anyone send out Kill em All??
