After The Goldrush isn't one of my favorite songs by him, but it's still good. I like Neil Young, thank god, he's going on tour.

Nice buy. I got mine for about $15 :upset:

'Night MX. I'm off.

Leper 05-08-2005 12:29 AM

thank god he recovered from that brain aneurysm surgery. Too bad we missed out on seein him at the junos though..

Leper 05-08-2005 12:32 AM

so...i guess no one's heard of Chilliwack then?..

Dammit i can't believe none of the classic rock fans here have heard of these guys!! Granted they are a Canadian band so they're obviously not going to be as popular, but they put out some amazing material in the late 70's. If anyone cares to get into this band, which i would recommend that each and everyone of you classic rock fans should do, download the following songs:

-Fly By Night..yes i realize Rush has a song by the exact same name but it's a completely different song..

-Lonesome Mary
-Baby Blue..Once again, completely different from the Badfinger song by the same name..

-California Girl..this song however is a cover, of who, though, i'm not sure.

I think that Badge by Cream sounds quite George Harrison influenced...

Did anyone else notice this?

Harrison helped write it, and played some guitar on it. :thumb:

Last night, I caught John Mayer, Buddy Guy, and Double Trouble jamming on some tv show. It was pretty awesome. It's also amazing how well John Mayer could play some of those SRV songs. He should really put out an album like that.

It made me even more excited to see Buddy Guy :D

I saw that too. John Mayer has proved to me even more that he's an amzing Blues Guitarist.

It was a great show. I liked it when he and Buddy Guy were facing off.

I really need some Buddy Guy. :-\

It's not really one of mine either, but Southern Man is great

I have yet to get After the Gold Rush. I passed it over last time to get Forever Changes and I have no regrets.

TheDMV 05-08-2005 10:16 AM

After the Goldrush has to be my favorite Neil Young album out of the three I own. The tracks are all so beautiful and meaningful. The title track is absolutley glorius, and Southern Man, Don't Let it Bring You down, and Tell me Why are all superb songs. If you like Neil Young, I would say After the Goldrush is a must own.

Walrus Gumboot 05-08-2005 10:19 AM

Neil Young has a T-Shirt that my dad gave him :p

It sure is. "I swear, by god, I'm gonna cut him down"....Those lyrics send chills down my spine :(.

Yep. It's a pity that his stuff is so poppish.

(not that it's bad to listen to poppy music once in a while)

Anyone want to explain how to trade albums over AIM, I just got it this morning.
Anyone want to explain how to trade albums over AIM, I just got it this morning.
When you're talking to someone on AIM, you go to People>Send File>Directory, and then select the album file and click send. The album has to be ripped/downloaded onto your computer in order to do it.

TheDMV 05-08-2005 11:32 AM

I want AIM so badly now.
I want AIM so badly now.
Why don't you download it, it's easy.

magicbus 05-08-2005 11:47 AM

Schyma, I could send you some older Buddy Guy stuff I have, but my computer isn't really working now. I have a song from like 1950 something, and then a full album from the 80's.

Haven't tried it yet, but how do you rip it onto your computer?

so if you have all your music on iTunes, you don't have to do anything else?

PinkFreud 05-08-2005 01:32 PM
so if you have all your music on iTunes, you don't have to do anything else?
/wishes I was there

Hey leppermessiah, I've heard of Chilliwack. I'm a fan. I've got one or two of their albums and they have some really good songs. I don't know most of their music well enough though, I can always sing along with them on the radio...but I rarely know the song titles. Cool band though. They do that song (forgetting the exact title) that's like "my girls been gone so long" or something. That's an amazing song. They have great vocals.

Broken Arrow 05-08-2005 02:40 PM

I'm not sure but I believe Chilliwack is going to that music festival with ZZ Top and George Thorogood.

Yeah, I like looking how Jack and Ginger have aged over the years because I never saw them in between.
