Yeah, NEVER watch it. Your IQ will drop drasticly.

Work. Fun.

kurrpt 11-10-2005 09:45 AM

i kinda want to see it, never really had the chance...

i dont rent movies, or buy them

Lord Abortion 11-10-2005 09:46 AM

Yeah, I would much rather spend £60 a month on CDs

Shred Danson 11-10-2005 09:48 AM
Yeah, I would much rather spend £60 a month on CDs
\m/ I spend a whole bunch of money on CD's at the local record store...of course, the CDs are all pretty cheap and everyone who works there knows me because I'm in a local band so I get two dollar-off coupons  me= lucky bastard.

kurrpt 11-10-2005 09:54 AM

... or you could just steal/"borrow" your music

/bought a nevermore CD yesterday
... or you could just steal/"borrow" your music

I wouldn't want to steal from there, it'd feel wrong...since the store does so much to support our local scene and all.

What NM CD?

kurrpt 11-10-2005 09:59 AM

hmmm, something with GOD in the title...

i know track 2 is final product haha

i didnt mean ripping CDs off of a store. I meant like DL'n and sh!t....

im not TOOOooo fond of the singer. in a lot of those tracks, he uses the same phrasing in style in the songs. Since i just let it play, its hard to tell which song you're listening to, unless you got aquainted with the solos, which was the reason i bought the CD (guitar)

Shred Danson 11-10-2005 10:02 AM
hmmm, something with GOD in the title...
This Godless Endeavor.

To me, their situation with the vocals is the same with Dream Theater...the singing can really get under your skin, but you can't picture them without anybody else...after a while you get used to it and it kind of fits the music. I personally enjoy Nevermore's vocals. It's kind of a melodramatic voice, reminds me of Shakespeare.

yea, urrite for the most part.

Its hard to explain what i mean though. Its not his voice, so much as the way he uses it. Like the phrasing and what not.

are there BETTER nevermore albums out there?

Shred Danson 11-10-2005 10:05 AM

Dreaming Neon Black is one of my favorites, so I'd reccommend that.

Well, you need a nice little dose of the old school Nevermore as well ;) .

Off to class...later.
Nothing, the movie Napolean Dynamite makes it cool to be a nerd.

I hate that movie.
It is a truly awful film. I only got two laughs out of the whole thing, though, to be fair, they were both pretty good laughs.
It is a truly awful film. I only got two laughs out of the whole thing, though, to be fair, they were both pretty good laughs.
As did I. But two laughs don't make a great movie, I really have no deal why people made a big deal out of the movie.

Jom 11-10-2005 11:00 AM

Again, I still haven't seen it, but based on how friends and other people have quoted that movie to death, I'm sure I've heard the entire movie. If I re-arrange all the quotations people have said over the past year or so, I'm positive that I could piece together the entire movie from start-to-finish.

"What are you going to do today, Napoleon?"
"Whatever I feel like, gosh! Tina, you fat lard, come get some ham!"
"Vote for Pedro!"
/who gives a shit at this point

kurrpt 11-10-2005 11:01 AM

haha, well, i tend to like movies my lil bro (21) likes...

so i think it would be worth seein for that...

and to piss my girl off, who HAS seen it

Thankfully the best part of the film (for me) wasn't a quotable part, so it'd be hard to ruin it. But yeah, I see how it gets in the way of potential enjoyment for people who haven't seen it. What with living in England, I was able to avoid having it quoted at me (except on MX a little) before seeing it.

You're basically right, man. What I don't understand is the fuckin' merchandise boom...you know, you walk into Hot Topic and there's a barrage of Napolean Dynamite garbage there (why I walked into Hot Topic, I don't know). 15 people at the school wear "Vote For Pedro" and "I love Nerds" t-shirts and then go and ridicule the poor token geek...
Thankfully the best part of the film (for me) wasn't a quotable part
Agh, Journalism is annoying at the end of the marking period, it's just use Adobe Page Maker to set up the paper, and people screw it up because the program sucks ***... you can't make a text box larger by one line, it doesn't recognize sentence fragments as existing, either there is a sentence at the end or start of a column, or not at all, no two words at the end of one, and then the rest at the beginning of the next .

Bartender 11-10-2005 12:26 PM

Old, much repeated question time;

How do you get a capital U with an umlaut on it?

No, I can't just copy-paste one from another site - I tried that already and it's being uncooperative - and I get the feeling if I write an essay on Nietzsche without a single umlauted Ubermensch, I may be marked down.

i am the robots 11-10-2005 12:29 PM

Look up the Counter-Strike Classic clan Ubermensch, if they're still around, it's all over their forum.

kurrpt 11-10-2005 12:30 PM

At least you're not on a computer that thinks alt+1 is the command to go back a page in your computer's history.... I hate my school's computers.

Bartender 11-10-2005 12:43 PM

Mine does that too, actually. You have to press the numbers on the number pad, rather than along the top of the keyboard, I think, for the special characters to work. Otherwise they seem to be just commands for your browser.

kurrpt 11-10-2005 12:48 PM

u are correct sir
