I'm only a local mod in 2 forums but I mod every forum. I mod here a lot more than I should, but Brian's a local only and can't ban and PDWAB usually isn't on as much as I am and I happen to be here when things need modding (thread title changes, closing threads, etc.). I'm not trying to steal their thunder or anything; it's just how I work as a mod.

Dan actually brought up me being localized in pop-punk in an IM convo we were having. It'd be cool but I don't think it's really necessary.

local mods can only mod the forum theyre assigned to. Brian can only change thread names and close threads etc in Pop-Punk.

Supermods have the ability to do that in any forum, and also use a banhammer.

I always make a point to be on at least one hour a day in the two forums I'm designated to (bass and hardcore/emo) but I'm in here almost daily, too.

You're basically right.

Local mods only have powers in one forum and its subforums. They can close threads, delete threads, delete posts, edit posts, edit polls, etc., all within one specific forum. Supermods can do all that stuff sitewide and ban/unban users; locals cannot ban/unban users.

Basically, it goes:

Admin
Supermod/Sputnik mod (Supermods can't mod on Sputnik)
Local mod
Lesson mod
Users
