just put this on for a spin
sounds righteous http://slaysfordays.blogspot.com/2011/12/peopling-peopling-ep.html |
some two-step electronic composition and obnoxious noise-rock, not too bad though. Pretty interesting sound experimentation...not enough actual material though.
|
yeah reminds me of a lot of noise rock
the tune with the guitar is actually quite nice the fourth one |

god dude dont be snobby this music is gay enough without seriously considering it "artfully composed" |
oh, right.
|
"Noise" music is a chore in most cases anyway, unless you're in for a long haul with a full albums worth
But that group was tantamount to some highschoolers jamming with a recording program. |
i dont really know what you mean by chore
and i agree with you on your second statement, but i think that even that kind of noise music has value, a place and can be immensely enjoyable. the quality of the process of creation doesn't necessarily define the quality of the end result |
by chore I meant that it takes warming up to. The 'sound' itself is rarely instantly engaging and it takes some time to appreciate the texture.
For that group there, that was far from their quality material. |
uhh its their debut ep
i dunno man i feel like i can get into different noise releases pretty easily. but i listen to a lot of harsh noise and power electronics so im an outlier i suppose i feel like what you say applies more readily in cases of bands that are almost exclusively HNW |
HNW??
ep's are not something I listen to much, unless they are some regarded in some way |
harsh noise wall
i dunno man, i love eps, the shorter listening experience isn't cheap, sometimes its just as hard to make an effective ep as it is an lp |
I guess I'm not fully accustomed to the work-ethic of noise music. "Noiserock" I'm very familiar with, but not so much the sonic-assault sort of stuff.
|
i consider noise music to be like the new evolved punk sound
punk musicians have decided to learn the instrument a bit and still get the same raucous wild textures but for today they play the guitars like none else i love that |
noise-rock without the "-rock" isnt very fun to listen to, it's like no-wave it's just a statement.
that said, Lechugillas put on a damn good show. im not sure if theyre actually noise or just noise-rock that was hard to understand live |
noise-rock without the "-rock" isnt very fun to listen to, it's like no-wave it's just a statement.
my noise band adds a free jazz/jazz interactive improvisation element
that kind of seems even more no-wave-ish and ultimately pretentious doesn't it? it bugs me sometimes, im not even as cool as the punks :-0 |
no sir, don't let the terms muddle the music. Everything comes from somewhere else, so its all equally worthless.
|
we do the best shows when we realize that that last fact
|
heres a straight up noise release that has wonderfully unique textures and is compositionally impressive

who by and what album????
|
f.e. denning - echoes of sumeria
its in the link |
I see.
I've got a few noise albums, but haven't gotten to them yet. |
its worth it
album is only 20 min long |
I've got it, listened to the first song all the way. HNW style. My experience lies with The Dead C and the various noise-groups of new zealand that cropped up with them. This is similar, as the noise is loaded with action, however I appreciate the actual live play of the Dead C. This ain't bad but its not really apparent whether it has any artistic imperative.
|
the dead c rule, harsh 70s reality is one of my favorite albums
|
Yeah, I rocked their albums a few years back....probably before I knew what was what. Should give them a spin. Also Pelt is apparently quite noise, as well as Dadamah.

lust for youth - sickness/demo
got this in the mail today swedish stamps are pretty stylish |
iceage- new brigade
the byrds- sweetheart of the rodeo drake- take care the reatards- teenage hate sunn o))) & boris- altar government issue- joy ride thee oh sees / total control split ampere- like shadows ive been listening to that iceage album periodically since it came out and idk i just CANNOT get into it, something just bores the shit out of me |

slowdive - souvlaki
trespassers william - different stars yo la tengo - and nothing.... mmm i really enjoy that ylt album. going to try to give 'i can hear the heart beating...' more listens. it's one of those very obvious albums that i would probably like a lot but just never bother listening to it very much. i'm still on my initial listens over the past 2 or 3 years and it sounds pretty solid i guess, but 'and nothing' is just so fucking good. been listening to that one quite often this past year. what are lust for youth like? seeing their name thrown around quite a bit recently; where should i start with them? |
yeah that yo la tengo is very subdued it takes a few listens to have that sparseness really catch on. it's a sleeper ill put it on and just stare
bark psychosis - hex. another one that is truly catching up to me years later. they have a messy compilation series though i wouldn't mind a comprehensive remastering of all those spare singles/alt/live tracks they deserve it. |
werd, i was just listening to and nothing turns itself... and i was thinking the same thing. the things that make them good are so subtle, it definitely took me a few listens to start to dig it. still can't really get into i can hear the heart..., though i know thats blasphemous. "our way to fall" is incredible but the peak of that album for me is the crying of lot g to tears are in your eyes, beautiful
|
yessss
after tears are in your eyes i admit the album slips a bit. cherry chapstick has an enjoyable noise pop thing going on, but in the context of of the all the songs before it, it feels off. still, on it's own its very lush and likeable. the following two tracks don't conjure the same atmosphere as the first eight, and then i don't like 'tired hippo' at all tbh. then the final track is great and all but definitely too long. digging ylt - summer sun atm. very bliss/pleasant sounding album for the most part. 'tiny birds' is so nice. |
I could never get into YLT at all :(
|
faggot
|
madeline is the best and then nothing song wtf
also "i can hear the heart" fucking rules you bitches |
Royal Headache - Royal Headache (haven't stopped listening to this since it came out. album of the year for sureeee)
