Are those what I think they are on the top? Missile launchers?
according to the description, three pairs of SS-N-22 Sunburn cruise missiles upon some googling, i dont think this was actually flew, i think it was just a hydroplane. also couldn't find any pictures of one in the air. edit- the article also says it has a top speed of 500kph, and i dunno if you could do that on the water so maybe it does fly a bit. |
fuck yes, i learned the guitar solo in pestilence by the faceless!
not too hard though, just fast. still stoked on it though |

Yer, IIRC, the russians made a bunch of planes that didn't fly,so they could get across water quickly. Weird ****. That one AES linked looks like the most steampunk plane in existence. If only it had more cogs.
In other news, diode assignment is done and handed in. Just gotta wait to see if Turnitin has claimed I've plagiarised :P |
sup lod.
anyone know how i can export ezdrummer tracks with ableton live? it works fine in the program, but it changes over to some default midi sound when i export it. |

gg motorola
Never been a fan of motorola. Nor Nokia, for that matter - my housemate just bought a nokia that the viewing angle isn't correct when you're looking straight on at it o.O You have to angle it for the dark colours to look normal.... The last two phones I've had have been sony erricssons, and they're awesome. No complaints whatsoever. The real advantage they have over most phones is that the OS just makes sense, a lot of really really subtle things that make using the phone just that much easier. Used to have a motorola that crashed all the time (this was in 2002 or so and I didn't use it for much more than texting), had a nokia that fell apart, also you guys remember for a period of about 3 years nokia kept releasing phones where the screen refresh rate was too slow for the graphics processor? Yeah. They suck. |
I have a Sony Ericsson now, I've had it for a few years. The phone I had before that was a Nokia N-Gage which I had for a while, that was hilarious.

you guys need iphone.
god I love this thing |
Man, I so want an iPhone, I just can't afford it right now. As soon as I can though, I'm getting one, no question.

i have this phone and its unbelievable awsome-o didnt want to go near any of that apple touch screen nonsence i was driving the other day with music coming from it, i was on facebook, signed into im's and on my email... awww yea, i hada nokia 6230 for 6 years... i miss it :( |
iPhone is pretty much the best thing thats ever happened to me. No BS. I swear it's even helped me become more organized.
Like last night for example, we were arguing at the bar and my friend said that girls cannot squirt milk like a gun through they're nipples and anytime you see that happen its fake. iphone proved him wrong! |

that homescreen is ****in ugly, and sort of tough to look at
|
I don't like phones that slide in any form or fashion. Even looked at a Sony one, and I am a Sony whore, but couldn't do it. My friend had one that had the whole dual slide thing. Slides one way for the number pad and then you could turn it on it's side and slide it the other way to get the full keyboard. Of course after owning it for a little over 6 months it broke and he was able to slide it so it looked like a really stretched out z.
My next phone will either be the iPhone 3GS or Blackberry Bold 9700. Still working on the whole job thing though. Oh, and TMI I ate some decent microwavable lasagna and it wasn't even that bad. Past the fact I feel like throwing it up right now. |
Atm I have some terrible LG thing.
I had a Sony Ericsson P1i, and it's an excellent phone. I really want an iPhone. Also, got my BSA Ultra. |
Ag?
|
Yes?
|
I've currently got a sonny erricsson slide phone (w595) that's really mint. Most of the things that get peope annoyed about slide phones have been changed (one example being it doesn't hang up if you close it, or jump back to front screen).
Looking to get a samsung touchscreen thing of some sort when I upgrade my contract, they look pretty ace. If I get a slightly better contract though, I can get an HTC Hero........ worth it? |
HTC hero is the iPhone for people that like to think.
I would love an HTC hero. Amazing phone. |
Annoyingly though, the only contract I can get it on is a 25 quid, 24 month one.
I'm on 3 atm, currently spending 25 a month but my contract's over in a month and they're currently doing some awesome deals so I can get unlimited texts and internet w/200 mins for 20 quid, but for some phones they drop it to 18. Samsung thingy in question is one of the 18 quid ones, and saving 7 quid a months sounds like a pretty attractive prospect. BUt on the other hand.....HTC Hero...... :naughty: |
7 quid a month = two more pints in the pub = 8 cans in the house = 1 duck = 1kg beef = 2 chickens = 4kg rice = 200 decent hunting pellets = pack of really good strings = weeks bus travel if student.
|
Thankfully I'm moving way closer to uni next year so travel costs are gonna go way down.... mabye that's how I can justify the Hero :P
|
Where you at now like?
|
Heaton, just of chilli road. Gonna be moving to the very bottom of heaton, only about a 15 min walk away from uni \m/ The bus round here is terrible, and we're on the annoying side of the metro that doesn't go to haymarket without changing. Piss.
That said, I kinda have an ongoing problem with busses, I really don't see how they can even expect to operate when there's so many cars on the road nationally. and they're getting more expensive by the minute. PRTs need to come along :P (wiki it - personal rapid transit) |
I used to live in Sandyford, and that was awesome.
Now I live over the river in Bensham, and it's fine and dandy. That being said I don't go to my 1 lecture a week. |
I always loved the bus system at my University. It would go up one street and then come back down another back. So people at my apartments would often have to wait 30 minutes to catch a bus that wasn't filled beyond capacity (with buses coming by every 5-10 minutes) because we were on the way back.
|
My school has a PRT, the only one like it in the world. It was built in the 70's though so it breaks down at the worst possible times and you end up stuck on the track for 45 minutes.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morgantown_Personal_Rapid_Transit |
Yeah, I've read up on the morgantown thing. It looks pretty shagged tbh but officially it's not really a PRT, some classification bollocks.
Anywho, AG - I really wanted to live in sandyford but my housemates are mainly language students who do **** all work and lectures and were used to living really close to uni (Ricky Road) so entirely took for granted that nearer locations to the city make it a hell of a lot easier to live. Being that I was in hendo last year, I really didn't want to live far out but I guess that's compromise.... Being an engineering student who mainly does 9-5 lectures, this pisses me off quite a bit. |
Hah. Well like I said I have one 2 hour lecture a week, and I don't go to it. :S
I have 6 and a half weeks for my dissertation, which I'm starting tomorrow. eep. hahah |
that homescreen is ****in ugly, and sort of tough to look at
awww dont be all iphoney like that, thats the standby screen the menu screen is more what yer into, its a symbian os so its as good as it comes really, i just like being able to do stuff simultaneously and using proper buttons without looking at the screen for some stuff |

That's right bitches, it twists round. Fuck flip phones. |
West Jesmond is the only place to live if you're a student in Newcastle.
I made an active effort to NOT live in Sandyford, Heaton etc. |
wait a minute, i thought all guns and gun-shaped objects were banned in the UK?
|
wait a minute, i thought all guns and gun-shaped objects were banned in the UK?
I thought this too until I opened a package for my dad and found a Luger. |
nice, aren't lugers worth like $10,000 or so nowadays? i remember seeing some thing on tv where there was some cash for guns thing and some idiot turned in an orginal world war 2 luger (worth **** tons of money) and got a $50 gift certificate or something for some shop. sad thing is they probably destroyed it, should be in a museum. at that same thing, someone also brought a grenade, and was arrested because 'technically a grenade isn't a gun.' i still think its a stupid idea to walk up to cops with evidence against yourself. i bet they take the picture of everyone who shows up to these 'cash for guns' events.
also, i remember when i was in england on vacation at my grandmas house, i was watching the UK version of cops (called road wars or something) and they were making this big deal about busting some guys house and they found kitchen knives and decorative swords and were all like 'OMG this guys a big criminal.' here in the states you can have whatever swords you want, as long as you dont use them against people you're golden. hell, you can buy shotguns and rifles from walmart without any kind of background check, just pistols you need a background check. |
And all down to a misinterpreted section of an old piece of paper.
|
Yeah you can buy guns easy as hell in the US, ammo can be a little tougher to get in some places though like the Walmarts around here have a retardedly low limit on how many boxes of each ammo type they can carry at a time.
Also, I remember reading a story a while back about a dude who killed a burglar with his roommate's katana. Pretty grim. |
