For whatever reason, when I opened this, and took out the little fabric patch that was in it, I just felt dirty, and slightly white trash. Anyone else get that feeling from Deicide?

the album is so good though

On my first listen, I can say this is going to take a bit of time to digest. It's a very busy album. There's a lot of rhythmic shifting in the vein of a band like Mastodon, but there's also a fair bit of extended build-ups and passages in the vein of Neurosis. Beyond that, the vocals are all over the place (I say this not in a positive or negative light), and at times the interlocking, overlaying melodies are hard to absorb. That being said it's just a first impression and if there's one thing I can say for sure it's that it's at the very worst a solid album that thrives off density and sonic shifts.
