Why do you want him?
My band is playing a show about 15 minutes from him, and I was gonna bug him about coming out to see us, even though he'll think we suck.

Clowny: If that was directed at me, it goes well. And yourself? (directed at all)

:amaze: 03-20-2007 07:10 PM

im doin alright, just got home from work ... about to start studying. you guys should check out the "why should i listen to your band" thread and listen to my band. we just got new recordings up with me in them :)

im becoming a pool shark.

i went to my first pit orchestra practice today (theyve had about 20 so far, i didnt feel like going) the director chewed me out, and then i sight read all of the songs without a problem. seriously annoying band director.

Akira 03-20-2007 07:13 PM

I want to do pit orchestra, but it's one of the many bass spots I won't get until my senior year when this bassit a grade above me is gone.

But why should I listen to you? :p

:amaze: 03-20-2007 07:15 PM

because like i said in the thread, we're poppier than your band, and we rock out a wicked techno jam.

Ting 03-20-2007 07:19 PM

W00t, my jazz band is doing the theme to Super mario bros 2. The whole thing is basically a bass solo

Sibelius score for anyone who wants to see/hear. You can just install the score viewer and not have to pay for anything if you want to.
seriously how good is this guy? i mean out do him?
Well for one thing he's really good, but that's not even the big problem. The band director at my school is definitely one to play favorites. When you make, say, jazz band, you are almost guaranteed to be in until you graduate. It's very hard to bump someone out. Plus, I'm just not good enough. Unless I suddenly learn to play like Wooten, I have no chance. It doesn't mean I don't try, but it just doesn't look good.

One Groovin Clown 03-20-2007 07:39 PM

Or you can play in a pop rock band.

Which hasn't practiced in 2 months. :p

I've been learning the bassline to Cait Sith's Theme from FFVII... lulz. :p

I must admit, I got a little teary at the part where he was talking to himself talking about how he was finally doing something good when he was sacrificing himself to get the materia.

Dude, the saddest part in that game was when Aeris was brutally murdered by Sephiroth, but that was a sad part when Cait Sith sacrificed himself. :(

Spaceman Spiff 03-20-2007 08:07 PM

It's not that sad when Cait Sith sacrifices himself. I mean, sure, he's doing a good and noble thing, but he's also just a toy. The person controlling him isn't dying or anything.

Pluperfect_Arson 03-20-2007 08:09 PM

You are a heartless bastard.

Dude

I lost it when Aeris died. Like I told my friend how sad it was, and he was like dude Aeris sucked anyway, and I'm like YOU DON'T TALK ABOUT AERIS LIKE THAT I WILL KILL YOU.

I don't think I ever recovered from her death. I almost cried every scene in Advent Children where you could see her and hear her voice. It was tough...

Dude, Aeris' untimely death was the destruction of my middle school heart. I didn't even know what to do after she died. I kind of just stared at the screen, a wee bit teary eyed, wondering what was going to happen.

I was the only kid I knew that played it, so I didn't have anyone to share my heartache with.

When Advent Children came out, though, I was like OHHHH MY GAWWWWWD when they kept showing her. It made me so happy, yet oh so sad at the same time.

Dang. :(

Spaceman Spiff 03-20-2007 08:20 PM

I still need to see Advent Children.

I first played FFVII when I was 11 or 12, I was so sad when Aeris died. It's just as sad whenever I get to that part in the game as it was the first time.

Pluperfect_Arson 03-20-2007 08:22 PM

The last time I started FFVII, I sped through the game, so that I wouldn't have to deal with it. I also tried to go on a date with someone else, but I still ended up with Aeris. Wtf.

Yeah what sucks is, when you go on the date scene with Aeris and Cloud, they talk about how they are perfect for each other...

They were going to be so beautiful together...

Pluperfect_Arson 03-20-2007 08:25 PM
Yeah what sucks is, when you go on the date scene with Aeris and Cloud, they talk about how they are perfect for each other...

Yeah, I didn't read it when they went on the date when I last went through. The heartache is just too much to handle. :(

BassVirtuoso 03-20-2007 08:26 PM

Come to think of it I don't know how I made it through Advent Children.

The part where they end up in the patch of flowers in the church, right were Cloud first met Aeris...it was so beautiful...

Anyone watch Are You Smarter Then A 5th Grader?

SlincoJ 03-20-2007 08:31 PM

Once or twice yes.

Ting 03-20-2007 08:33 PM

There has to be something scripted there. There is no way some of these people are that stupid. Like, "If you cross our [being the US] northern boarder" what country are you in"..."Umm, I think its mexico but im not sure"

BassVirtuoso 03-20-2007 08:38 PM

It's really a corporate ploy to make average Americans feel smarter than they actually are.

SlincoJ 03-20-2007 08:43 PM

I hope so,because if those people are as stupid as they appear..
