Note the link on their page to GUIDOFISTPUMP.com It was basically subpar trance/techno and a barrage of chugging breakdowns with autotuned vocals and poopty screaming. It did lead me to say "they drop E more than Tiesto fans", which I was pretty proud of. The songs on their MySpace have considerably more structure than they do live. Live it was literally just dance + chugging.
**** looks like crabcore is taking off in a big way now |
I think Arif was just...really high. He's gotten progressively laid back over the years, too.
Speaking of Arif, he posted a funny twitpic: http://twitpic.com/tt29k "What I lack in phallus, I make up in chalice" |
yeah I saw that pic on twitter lol. His face is awesome. What I like about them is that they don't seem to know that they're big. They still just chill with everyone before/during/after shows... Most bands just think they're too cool to hang with regular folk.

That shits almost as bad as brokencyde. These guys toured with PTH?
yeah, they have some of the worst bands touring with them whenever they play here. it's almost worse than the days of dragging bombs over providence around with them
lol but i like bop now :(
who's got a favorite track off kezia
Heretics & Killers <3
partial to Plateful of our Dead just cuz of the subtext, brings me back
otherwise She who Mars |
she who mars or divine suicide
divine suicide/heretics and killers/turn soonest
heretics/she who mars/turn soonest
the whole album's masterful. I like Fortress better for the guitar jamz, but Kezia holds up better as an album. |
Blindfolds Aside or No Stars
turn soonest

what the **** you fag, bombs over providence are awesome yes, "she who mars the skin of gods" is probably my fave off "kezia" as well, and "nautical". edit: oh, oh, oh, and "turn soonest to the sea" |
Nautical, really? I always though Nautical was the second worst on the cd, after plateful
idk, i am a punk rock fan and it's a fast and relatively short song, so it suits me.
i also like the riffs alot. |
riffs
madlibs
She Who Mars The Skin Of Gods is my favorite track.
No Stars Over Bethlehem
falling back in love with Fortress
Spoils is beautiful |
Turn Soonest to the Sea or.. She Who Mars the Skin of Gods
I liked kezia better than Fortress |
divine suicide
blindfolds aside
No Stars or Blindfolds Aside. I prefer Fortress.
Blindfolds Aside
In other news, it looks like they're in full-time production mode. The only show they have listed for this year so far is Bamboozle in May. Are they just writing or recording too? |
Both hopefully.
The goal is to at least finish writing and, I'm assuming, pre-production. Recording is more contingent on when they can get in the studio, it's rarely a case where they just go when they feel like it. I'm sure if they can get it all done in one smooth process they probably will.
So it seems like they're going to be shooting for a release date around early or mid 2011.
Oh no, I was hoping I wouldn't have to wait that long!!
yes
very very good band in my opinion. the only thing that bothers me after awhile is rody's incredibly high and whiny voice. but the fortress album came with all the instrumental tracks (besides bloodmeat oddly) so that problem is solved. cheers :chug:
I wasn't really a fan of his vocals at first, but they grew on me. I still find the vocals on A Calculated Use Of Sound annoying though.
Me neither, it just sounds like a bog standard post hardcore album which im not really into.

I think in a couple of interviews they said the release date will probably be around summer 2010, also on their myspace blog Tim said "we're going to be focusing on the new record in the new year and not be doing any shows until it's done". For now, the only show they have for 2010 is in May so...dunno, never get your hopes high too soon, the DVD was delayed from june or july to august, then to mid-september then to late september so you never know with them:) Also, Fortress was delayed at least once if I'm not wrong. |
fools, "a calculated use of sound" is awesome.
i wouldnt say awesome, but definitely not bad
kinda excited for the new album. I liked Kezia better than Fortress so I hope it's better than fortress

you think an album they havent even finished writing is going to be out in the next 7 months? uh no. Kezia was delayed by about a year, Fortress a few months. I wouldn't get your hopes up. |
