It was basically subpar trance/techno and a barrage of chugging breakdowns with autotuned vocals and poopty screaming. It did lead me to say "they drop E more than Tiesto fans", which I was pretty proud of. The songs on their MySpace have considerably more structure than they do live. Live it was literally just dance + chugging.
**** looks like crabcore is taking off in a big way now

Benzilla 12-18-2009 03:37 PM
I think Arif was just...really high. He's gotten progressively laid back over the years, too.
Speaking of Arif, he posted a funny twitpic: http://twitpic.com/tt29k

"What I lack in phallus, I make up in chalice"

Yordy 12-19-2009 11:33 AM

yeah I saw that pic on twitter lol. His face is awesome. What I like about them is that they don't seem to know that they're big. They still just chill with everyone before/during/after shows... Most bands just think they're too cool to hang with regular folk.

the ending breakdown of the "pedestrians" song is actually alright

but holy fark this is bad music

interviewer02 12-25-2009 04:38 AM

That shits almost as bad as brokencyde. These guys toured with PTH?

Tyler 12-25-2009 08:26 PM

yeah, they have some of the worst bands touring with them whenever they play here. it's almost worse than the days of dragging bombs over providence around with them

Anglachel 12-26-2009 12:25 AM

lol but i like bop now :(

Apoc 12-26-2009 01:10 AM

who's got a favorite track off kezia

Ventriloquist 12-26-2009 07:21 AM

Heretics & Killers <3

Tyler 12-26-2009 11:51 AM

partial to Plateful of our Dead just cuz of the subtext, brings me back

otherwise She who Mars

MBS 12-26-2009 12:58 PM

she who mars or divine suicide

xMalcolmXx 12-26-2009 01:00 PM

divine suicide/heretics and killers/turn soonest

Apoc 12-26-2009 01:32 PM

heretics/she who mars/turn soonest

the whole album's masterful. I like Fortress better for the guitar jamz, but Kezia holds up better as an album.

Static 12-26-2009 02:05 PM

Blindfolds Aside or No Stars

:amaze: 12-26-2009 02:10 PM

turn soonest

what the **** you fag, bombs over providence are awesome

yes, "she who mars the skin of gods" is probably my fave off "kezia" as well, and "nautical".

edit: oh, oh, oh, and "turn soonest to the sea"

Static 12-26-2009 02:19 PM

Nautical, really? I always though Nautical was the second worst on the cd, after plateful

Pete 12-26-2009 02:24 PM

idk, i am a punk rock fan and it's a fast and relatively short song, so it suits me.

i also like the riffs alot.

Static 12-26-2009 02:25 PM

riffs

Pete 12-26-2009 02:25 PM

madlibs

alytee123 12-26-2009 02:39 PM

She Who Mars The Skin Of Gods is my favorite track.

FigNewtns 12-26-2009 03:42 PM

No Stars Over Bethlehem

Apoc 01-02-2010 02:57 AM

falling back in love with Fortress

Spoils is beautiful

twelvegates 01-03-2010 10:07 PM

Turn Soonest to the Sea or.. She Who Mars the Skin of Gods

I liked kezia better than Fortress

DBlitz 01-03-2010 10:59 PM

divine suicide

Mute Requiem 01-04-2010 12:37 PM

blindfolds aside

Yordy 01-04-2010 06:38 PM

No Stars or Blindfolds Aside. I prefer Fortress.

Benzilla 01-07-2010 08:38 AM

Blindfolds Aside

In other news, it looks like they're in full-time production mode. The only show they have listed for this year so far is Bamboozle in May. Are they just writing or recording too?

alytee123 01-07-2010 12:33 PM

Both hopefully.

Tyler 01-07-2010 02:44 PM

The goal is to at least finish writing and, I'm assuming, pre-production. Recording is more contingent on when they can get in the studio, it's rarely a case where they just go when they feel like it. I'm sure if they can get it all done in one smooth process they probably will.

Benzilla 01-08-2010 11:41 AM

So it seems like they're going to be shooting for a release date around early or mid 2011.

Yordy 01-08-2010 11:15 PM

Oh no, I was hoping I wouldn't have to wait that long!!

dontbeactinmadfresh 01-09-2010 09:43 AM

yes

very very good band in my opinion. the only thing that bothers me after awhile is rody's incredibly high and whiny voice. but the fortress album came with all the instrumental tracks (besides bloodmeat oddly) so that problem is solved. cheers :chug:

alytee123 01-09-2010 09:47 AM

I wasn't really a fan of his vocals at first, but they grew on me. I still find the vocals on A Calculated Use Of Sound annoying though.

alytee123 01-09-2010 10:57 AM

Me neither, it just sounds like a bog standard post hardcore album which im not really into.

gocsa666 01-09-2010 11:00 AM

I think in a couple of interviews they said the release date will probably be around summer 2010, also on their myspace blog Tim said "we're going to be focusing on the new record in the new year and not be doing any shows until it's done". For now, the only show they have for 2010 is in May so...dunno, never get your hopes high too soon, the DVD was delayed from june or july to august, then to mid-september then to late september so you never know with them:) Also, Fortress was delayed at least once if I'm not wrong.

Pete 01-09-2010 12:03 PM

fools, "a calculated use of sound" is awesome.

Static 01-09-2010 01:25 PM

i wouldnt say awesome, but definitely not bad

twelvegates 01-09-2010 07:50 PM

kinda excited for the new album. I liked Kezia better than Fortress so I hope it's better than fortress

Tyler 01-09-2010 11:00 PM

you think an album they havent even finished writing is going to be out in the next 7 months?

uh no.

Kezia was delayed by about a year, Fortress a few months. I wouldn't get your hopes up.
