whipped out the Source Tags and Codes cd again to prep myself for the concert. Its the little things that make this album great. What stood out this listen was the transition between Baudelaire and Homage. The mood shifts so fluidly. ..TRAIL OF DEAD is fantastic.

No, and no.
Futureheads are alright, bloc party are crap. |
*shrugs* My opinion that's all.
|
I know someone that looks like the Futureheads bassist.
I've been listening to Against Me!'s Reinventing Axl Rose on this mighty fine Easter Sunday. |
I finally got something by Queens Of The Stone Age... "Songs For The Deaf".
|
I am right now being completely blown away by Fall of Troys LP that I just got from a friend. Insanely good stuff.

My 11 Hour Collection of Elliott Smith

Sage Francis

I've been having a recent obsession with Canned Heat. What's a good album by them?
|
I like avant garde composers today. So I've been into Stockhausen and Penderecki.
|
The Who's Tommy and Quadrophenia
|
Last night went to a crappy hardcore show, got throughly socked in the face in the pit. But, now thanks to Happymea, I am completely in love with Busdriver.

I think he/they are on THUG. If I'm thinking of the right band, they're awesome. |
Grade
Jawbreaker Trans Am (when will it end?) Braid The Decemberists - Picaresque. I'm thinking strong contender for album of the year. |

Thank the blokes in the slsk indie room. Heh.
Trans Am (when will it end?)
I have Futureworld, it's pretty good. I listened to the whole of Kayo Dot's Choirs of the Eye awhile ago, and ..wow. |
Siouxsie and the Banshees

Pelican. Lots and lots of Pelican.

Diggage
Gang of Four - Entertainment |
I listened to the whole of Kayo Dot's Choirs of the Eye awhile ago, and ..wow.
YES! That album still blows my mind almost every time I hear it. Now I gotta put that bad boy on, it's been a while. I've been spinning Neutral Milk Hotel, Pixies, and Broken Social Scene a lot lately. |
bloc party are crap.
No they're not. They might not be original, but they're close to the best in their style. They're good musicians too. |
I just can't take this whole new crop of bands who wanna be like Gang of Four, Fugazi, The Fall, Joy Divison etc... Why can they not atleast try to sound un-derivitave? (sp)
|
Because not enough people know that they're derivative. If it hasn't been heard in the last twenty years or featured on a VH1 nostalgia show, then it's new.
|
I can get over the fact that they're derivative... but Bloc Party's album is weak, and their singer is terrible.
|
I hate music.
|
I've been digging Strapping Young Lad, which is awesome because I haven't really dug metal for a while, but I'm loving their album City.
Also been digging American Music Club. I got their album Everclear, and it's brilliant, I recommend it to one and all. |
I hate music.
That was strong  . I just downloaded Singles from The Clash. |
I hate music.
How scene of you. |
The music that I like to listen to right now..
Incubus Smashing Pumpkins Jack off Jill Bjork (not all of her stuff, just some) Pearl Jam Soundgarden ... I'm drawing a blank now, I guess I'll have to update this later when I remember it all. BUT there is this one song that I listened to recently, it's not a song with lyrics, but it's really good. In case anyone's interested, the song is from the 28 days later soundtrack, it's called In a Heartbeat. |
Jack Off Jill's 'Clear Hearts Grey Flowers' is something of a guilty pleasure of mine. Guilty, because I'm always making snide remarks about Marilyn Manson fans.
Right now I'm digging a Jean Michel Jarre compilation. It's pretty good. |
I am still listening to QOTSA - L2P prety much all the time. I have only played a couple of other Cds and randomly gone through my downloads a couple of times this week.
|

/pseudo-rep for AMC love Currently: Akron/Family - Gorgeous self-titled psych-folk release. I'm really enjoying it so far. |
So I got some Kyuss a week or so ago and I have to say, not very impressed. I mean, it's OK but it's no QOTSA.
QOTSA>>>>>>>>>>>>>Kyuss. |
Well, obviously...
|
Oh well... :(
