Angra are an extremely talented Brazilian power metal band. Try their album Temple of shadows. Edguy I have to whore for of course. Hellfire Club is a great album. In the vein of Children of Bodom, there's also Norther and Kalmah. Kamelot's Black Halo album is also brilliant. |

Can someone reccomend some good stuff similar to Nile?
|
I haven't heard any music that made me say "holy shit." Tell me some songs that are truly amazing. It can be any genre.
Atheist-try both songs on this page, especially "An Incarnation's Dream." http://shop.relapse.com/content/downloads.aspx?MediaTypeID=2 ______________________________________________________________ REQUEST(again) Ok, this may be a tough one. Bands that could be compared lyrically to Bad Religion; not punk bands because I have already heard those names(also because asking this in "Rock and Metal"). |

Kalmah. They do pretty much the same thing as CoB, only, in my opinion, far better. If you want just one song to check out to start with, make it "Heroes To Us". |

I doubt any of you remember me, it's been a good year or more since I last actively posted in R&M, but I'm back from the depths of the guitar forum to look for some suggestions.
I listen to mostly classic rock, but I'd like to get into some more metal. Now when I'm not listening to classic rock, blues, etc. I've got a pretty narrow group of bands that I listen to. I'll listen to early-mid 90's AFI (I know it's not metal, just giving more of my likes), about up to The Art of Drowning. I'm a decent System fan, but much more of their earlier stuff. (nu-metal, but I'm working my way up). I'm a decent fan of Dream Theater and Trans-Siberian Orchestra when it comes to prog-influenced metal. And for real metal I pretty much only listen to Disillusion. I don't know how many of you have heard of them, so I linked the band site. I usually am not a fan of the ol' cookie monster vocals, but the same goes for high pitched screamers such as those found on dream theater and the likes. I'm getting better with cookie monsters (see Disilluison), but would like if they're kept to a minimum. Thanks a lot. I'll edit in anything more I think of. Also, I use Rhapsody from listen.com for streaming music, so if you know if bands do or don't allow their music to be streamed, that would be a plus. If not, I can still try sound clips from CD store websites and band web sites. |
Acid Bath - Pagean Terrorism Tactics, When the Kite String pops

I recently bought Horror Show by Iced Earth, and downloaded Burnt Offerings by Iced Earth, and I love them both. I love the melodic, epic feel of Horror Show, and I love the heaviness of Burnt Offerings. I was wondering what would be a good album to pick up next?
