probably one of the best bands ever

Jaundice 11-09-2009 04:37 PM

i always deliberately avoided them because all the hipster hype about the album with the candle on it

Meatplow 11-09-2009 04:40 PM

they are so indie they defy the noise rock tag

illmitch 11-09-2009 04:40 PM

daydream nation is hyped but its still an amazing album imo. if nothing else you need to check out their early stuff, it's noise rock kinda similar to early Swans

yeah, crass put stuff like that on every record put out through their label to keep record store owners from trying to make a lot of money off of them. basically crass only charged how much money it took to make the record and to stay self-sufficient.

Yes, really good band. Do you like rudimentary peni? been in a anarchopunx mood today.

illmitch 11-09-2009 04:59 PM

yeah, rudimentary peni is amazing. i have death church and cacophony (the latter of which is one of the strangest albums i've ever listened to). been meaning to get their EPs.

have you listened to DIRT?

Txus 11-09-2009 05:06 PM

Nope, never heard of DIRT. I will look into them since I read someone refer to them as a better Crass, which is hard to believe, haha. And yeah, Rudimentary Peni are probably my favorite Anarchopunk band, Cacophony is really ****ing good, takes quite sometime to get used to though. Death Chruch remains my favorite of them. I don't have their EP's either.

illmitch 11-09-2009 05:09 PM

yeah, DIRT's sound is definitely similar to crass. in ways they do it better, in ways they don't. crass probably has better lyrics. but yeah, i would definitely recommend getting Black and White as soon as you can.

i've been meaning to listen to more Flux of Pink Indians - i got The ****ing Cunts Treat Us Like Pricks a while back and didn't like it, but i want to hear their other stuff.

Txus 11-09-2009 05:12 PM

Will get on that, good sir. Thanks.

as for Flux I haven't heard much of their discography, I just have this compilation (Not so Brave) which is a comp of their demos and I'm really liking it. And I also have one of their LP's "Strive to Survive Causing the Least Suffering Possible" which is pretty solid. You might like that one.
