They do it live with the guitar down half a step

That's awesome

This Unforgiven vocals are awful. The guitar is a little shocking but its actually not too bad. It does defeat the purpose of the song...

Stormrider 11-30-2005 02:00 PM
They play it flatted? That's news to me.

I get to do a show on Friday doing this song. I get to play rhythm guitar as my leads aren't that good and our other guitarist plays the leads alot better.

My show is gonna be so rockin'. I'm stoked beyond words.:D
Cool. Im gunna have to get used of playing infront of a lot of people. I get nervous and have a tendency to shake...Yes weird. But its better then it use to be.

And earlier like 2 pages ago, you said that you sweep the solo of LM..Do you have to sweep it or you can also alternate it ?

That'd be a fast alternate. I don't think you have to. I don't know though, I'm not a fan of that song at all.

I got over the shakiness. I played Layla Unplugged in front of a few people and it was the first time I played a show and my gf was there so I was freaked but ever since I've been calm and excited.

Why dont you like that song ?

I got used to playing just like that infront of about 10 people alone with noone playing with me, but playing a gig would be a whole different story. Things like going off time, messing up is what worries me.

Chris2401 11-30-2005 02:58 PM

Anyone like low man's lyric?

MRDuCran 11-30-2005 06:14 PM
Anyone like low man's lyric?
It's one of my favourite songs to sing, so yeah.

I can't stand it. I think it's bad, I don't know I'll listen again and get back to you.

I've played in front of 100 at the most. The average is probably closer to 25-30 though.

Oh ok.

If everything goes well, we might play at a school talent show at the end of the year. That should smack my nervousness out of me.

timmySmi 11-30-2005 06:22 PM

I've played infront of 5,000 people at a really big Music event which happens every year In my town. We did the gig last year because this year were all to busy with jobs, college, what not. Low man's lyric is amazing.

Thrash em all 11-30-2005 08:21 PM

one of metallicas best song is orion its just cool

metalmilitia101 11-30-2005 10:29 PM

i agree, orion is a great song. nice avatar btw.

low man's lyric is one of my prolly top 4 favorite slower metallica songs

Chu 11-30-2005 10:45 PM
So I finally decided that Fade to Black is their best solo. Now I decided that a long time ago but I was thinking that it really is the best constructed and his only long solo that was designed like one solo and not a few different ones smashed into one lead.
:D
I definately agree with this!!!!! :thumb:
That'd be a fast alternate. I don't think you have to. I don't know though, I'm not a fan of that song at all.
Serious?! I ****en love Leper Messiah
one of metallicas best song is orion its just cool
Yep, my favourite song/s of all time are easily Fade To Black/Orion (They're both so damn good, I can't decide which is better anymore).

Edit: I'm a bit disappointed Happy's spamming this thread up though....

iluvkirkhammett 12-01-2005 06:57 AM

Lars is getting married again? Is this marriage number three? Oh well, good for him. He seems very happy.

About the record, they need to get rid of Bob Rock, end of story.

woody2k5 12-01-2005 08:21 AM

Why? It's not his fault they changed their style of music.

Steve DeBerg 12-01-2005 09:59 AM

Is anyone looking forward to a new metallica album? I am, only because I would like to see what they come up with next. I read something the other day by Hammett and he said there will be solos in the next album.

Oh yeah, I'm definately looking forward to it. I hope it's more metal.

me too.

For the third and final time I will request: Can anybody reccomend me any medium difficulty Metallica songs to learn on guitar, As I just realised I don't really know much metallica except for riffs. I can play most of Motorbreath except for some of the solo, unforgiven and songs of about this difficulty but I would like to expand my Metallica song bank. If anybody could suggest a good Metallica song with nice riffs and an accomplishable solo it would be really appreciated...thanks

Jev 12-01-2005 11:43 AM

Try Creeping Death.

Kyle 12-01-2005 12:05 PM
Try Creeping Death.
Cheers Happy, I'm pretty sure I can get the rythem which sounds like it will be good fun to learn, but I don't think I can do the solos. I'm just not really fast enough to do them yet, but the rythem will be fun.

any more suggestions?

Jev 12-01-2005 12:37 PM

Well, I was gonna say Damage Inc. I know the solo sounds hard but it's easier than the CD one.
Otherwise, try To Live Is To Die.

Fade To Black. It sounds hard, but once you practice it a little, it's piss.

fatbandit 12-01-2005 01:17 PM

No Leaf Clover is pretty easy on guitar, and the leads are easier, it being one of Kirk's wah laden solos and all.

And I'm constipated Like a soothing light at the end of a tunnel.

Yay for James not singing and me forgetting how the tunnel bit goes.
