Not all of it but there are a few parts in the middle with a rather complex structure and Kirk just shoves them off. It's pretty crazy
Could it be sped up  ?

Huber 11-28-2005 04:39 PM

In my guitar class I gotta bring in sheet music for a song I wish to play in the future in front of the class. The fine print is that it has to have at least 6 chords in it. Can someone give me any Metallica songs with 6 chords?

Jev 11-28-2005 04:41 PM

Do they have to be different chords (e.g. not all barre chords)?

Thrash em all 11-28-2005 06:25 PM

What sort of album is MOP. eg. Thrash or speed.

Sh*it man I thought Holier Than Thou was a great song I play it with my band all the time. Whenever I hear it, It just reminds me of them playing during the black album days when they were In there prime.

I love don't Tread On Me Newsteds backing vocals are quality on that song.

Good God Iam not looking for a bloody flame war here so If I give an opinion I wish for that to be respected.

Cliff technically better he was easily 50% of the band while he was alive and has wrote some of the most beautiful basslines I've ever heard.
Jason is so underated due to the fact he plays with a pick, and has his individual Basswork limit. He brought a much tighter sound to Metallica and if you need to judge him look at his live performances every show he did, He would just give it 110% and was easily half the energy Metallica gave off everytime they played live not to mention the fact he was a good singer. When he came into the band he was essentially a fan right up to the point he left he loved the old stuff and was not keen on Load or Reload at all. Jay was the last part of what Metallica really were and now thats gone it just does'nt feel the same.

Jason Newsted is my favorite Metallica bassist he has had a huge influeance on my bass playing and I respect him as a person for putting up with Jaymz and Lars hazing and limited creativity over the years.

I love it When the vocals kick in for the verses, Its just so awsome. Probably my favorite song on that album.

Quickdrop 11-28-2005 07:04 PM

Jason was better simply because of his backing vocals. The "Die! Die! Die!..." during Creeping Death live is classic.

YES
It takes like 2:30 to get into the song(Pure gold). That whole album is. IMO anything Black and before was there most best stuff (its also my favorite)

All the songs on that album are good. Too bad Blackened is low on the volume though..

I just got to listeing to some Metallica after a few months long break. Got into playing along too but as I mentioned earlier I dont remember much, So im going through some of the songs I learned and just getting back a lil of what I had forgotten.

Aw3someman 11-28-2005 08:00 PM

From AFJA my fav would have to be The Frayed Ends of Sanity. That's such a cool song IMO. The only songs i skip in that album are Eye of the Beholder, The shortest straw and To Live is to Die. Other wise AJFA is pure gold. No wait... Platinum.

How can you skip The Shortest Straw and To Live Is To Die

Aw3someman 11-28-2005 08:10 PM

To Live is to Die is too long for me. It just can't keep me hooked. And the Shortest Straw chorus annoys me. When he drags out "straw" it sounds sooo weird and i just can't listen to it. Kinda like Don't Tread on Me from The black album

chili peppers are gods 11-28-2005 08:34 PM

one of the best songs as gotta b hero of the day
and also ...and justice for all

Vai's Jem #2 11-28-2005 08:55 PM

Hero of the Day is excellent, I love the S&M version, infact I love S&M as a complete concert. The songs just sound so epic, and James, well what can I say about his performance from that concert other then wow, his voice is just amazing.

Chu 11-28-2005 10:59 PM

Even though I don't really like ...AJFA, I think it's James' best vocal performance.
It just goes so well with the dark music, it's all about violence

Good ****.

W.M.A 11-29-2005 01:16 AM

i can listen to eye of the beholder up to the chorus which is just a mess. all the other songs are fantastic. i think of the pre black albums albums ...AJFA has aged the best. RTL especially sounds very 80's, mostly cos of escape.

chili peppers are gods 11-29-2005 01:22 AM

But one has gotta be one of there best full on guitar songs man

Everyone has different tastes... I loved Ktulu and Orion but my friends hate them.

Jev 11-29-2005 01:46 AM

I love those 2 also. Both fun to play.

To live is to die well do you like intrumentals?(that song rules)pure gold:)

iluvkirkhammett 11-29-2005 01:57 AM

I'm just starting to learn Ktulu, it's a challenge.

Jev 11-29-2005 01:58 AM
I'm just starting to learn Ktulu, it's a challenge.
Yeah the opening bit's probably the hardest Metallica rhythm.

Most definantly. I recently mastered Fade to Black and then The Unforgiven.
