I'm just getting home from an intense band practice.
I'm just getting home from an intense band practice.
Super intense dood.

ATM 03-10-2005 08:59 PM

My ears are still ringing.

Illmatic 03-10-2005 09:03 PM

/isn't in a band

/would only join a funk band, dammit

ATM 03-10-2005 09:03 PM

We play some funk. Come join :)

Illmatic 03-10-2005 09:03 PM

Full-time funk, fool.

ATM 03-10-2005 09:06 PM

We do many different genres, like jazz, metal, funk, and rock.

Jom 03-10-2005 09:07 PM

Where did the resident slut go?

EDIT: actually, where is everyone else?

Illmatic 03-10-2005 09:07 PM

That wouldn't bring back a funk revival, though. So no dice.

And I don't mean funk-rock. I mean funk. Real funk is an entity of its own, an irresistable force that can move the most unmovable object.

magicbus 03-10-2005 09:09 PM

Guys: Dunlop Dallas Re-Issue Fuzz Face or Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi?

Illmatic 03-10-2005 09:16 PM

What the hell are you talking about?

EDIT: post #3900 yeah me

Jom 03-10-2005 09:22 PM

Someone just told me that one of the elementary school teachers in my old district got arrested for cocaine yesterday.

What a dumbass

Kurtz 03-10-2005 09:24 PM

On campus?

Jom 03-10-2005 09:31 PM
On campus?
At the elementary school? I'm not positive, I'm reading it in the news now.

EDIT: screw it, the thread isn't active enough [yet].
Real funk is an entity of its own, an irresistable force that can move the most unmovable object.
It can make me dance, and that says something.

Illmatic 03-10-2005 09:38 PM
It can make me dance, and that says something.
That's what I was getting at when I said it would move the most unmovable object.

Jom 03-10-2005 09:39 PM

/me doesn't dance

/me hopes to never attend any weddings in my lifetime

Speaking of weddings... Ray, you excited for the wedding?

Kurtz 03-10-2005 09:40 PM

I actually kind of am, now that my girl said that her dad and brother were, in her words, "super cool"
You mean like Parliament?
Of course. George and Bootsy = co-Presidents of Funk. There's other good funk too, of course.

Illmatic 03-10-2005 10:25 PM

This thread is deader than 2Pac.

Jom 03-10-2005 10:26 PM
This thread is deader than 2Pac, Aaliyah, Biggie, and Elvis combined.
Fixed.

ATM 03-10-2005 10:26 PM

I'm lurking.

Cain 03-10-2005 10:27 PM

The loss of the desire for rep parties has hit this thread quite hard, I'd say.

EDIT: Elvis is NOT dead!

/conspiracy

Also, I talked to a high school friend for the first time in a while tonight (on AIM).

That was supposed to START a convo, guys!

EDIT NO. 2: Thanks, DN

ATM 03-10-2005 10:31 PM

Illmatic 03-10-2005 10:32 PM
DN, did you ever hear what I came up with on Cool Edit Pro? They are incredible

I heard them last night.
I should ysi my latest one. It's better then those I made last night.

Cain 03-10-2005 10:35 PM

Hey, question: I have a song-writing/notation program called Finale, and it exports Standard MIDI files. But when I play them on iTunes, Quicktime, and Realplayer, all very standard MIDI processors, there's an anomaly: when two notes are played twice in a row, they don't register. It sounds like there are notes missing, and they are. Why is this? Is there a way to convert the Finale MIDI to Quicktime or something so that they play correctly? I don't get it.

ArcLite 03-10-2005 10:35 PM

Howdy fellas.

ATM 03-10-2005 10:36 PM

Hey man, isn't it a little early for you to be online?

Illmatic 03-10-2005 10:37 PM

ceeeee-jayyyyyy

ArcLite 03-10-2005 10:38 PM
Hey man, isn't it a little early for you to be online?
A little. I usually lurk in and out when I'm not at work. But don't worry, in about 2 hours I'll be on full time :) .

ATM 03-10-2005 10:38 PM

I'm finally going to get set up to record my guitar playing tomorow.

ArcLite 03-10-2005 10:44 PM

That sounds good. I was supposed to record an improv today for Ramsey but I never did. I didn't feel like playing today for some reason.
