Storm In A Teacup 08-03-2006 12:33 PM
Peeps as in the food or people?

I'm kinda looking forward to that, but I dunno. Our school looks so much different than it did last year with all the renovation going on.

Gav: You dork, you're not supposed to promote yourself. :p
Err...people...:p

I'm going into the final building of my district. The 11th and 12th grade building, otherwise known as High School. :D I was in the Intermediate High School last year in 9th-1th so I didn't really consider myself in high school yet, but now I do.

bottlerocket 08-03-2006 12:33 PM

I'm not promoting myself...I'm clinging to an extremely farfetched dream that I stand a chance of winning. :upset:

J: oic, yeah, I kinda know what those are.

Kinda like our SAT's for us amrite?
I have no idea what SATs are.

bottlerocket 08-03-2006 12:36 PM

Scholastic Aptitude Tests...it's supposed to be a measure of how smart you are. You need to take it to get into college.

They're a joke because they're subject to SO many variables and they're not an accurate reflection of your ability to test or perform academically at all but they're a huge deal. The test is well over 4 hours long (mine was five and a half, I think). They're extremely tiring and are now graded out of 2400, including an essay you need to write.

I've been really scurred for when I will have to eventually take them. I know I won't do good. :(

Except mine will be the ACT.

oic haha

Our high school isn't that big that we need 2 buildings. We have all 4 grades in the same place. It's pretty cool.

Gav: haha, <3

And I get to take my SATs at the end of the school year! Yay! Not.

I dread sitting in that room for 5 hours.

My mom bought me a PSAT book because she wants me to get a scholarship from it. I don't want to read it though. :(

SATs are more of a common sense thing and then knowing your formulas and vocabulary.

bottlerocket 08-03-2006 12:40 PM

I took the SAT and the ACT. It's a good idea to take both.

They weren't difficult, it's just that there's SO much stress and pressure and the test is LONG.

45 minutes of math...45 minutes of English...45 minutes of math...45 minutes of English...essay...45 minutes of math...45 minutes of English...etc.

It changes up so much you just get so flustered and want to scream.

Argh, they were brutal. :(

I don't mean to scare you but I'm going to be honest with you.

Justin: You actually don't need to know formulas. They give you a list of formulas (at least they did when I took them, anyway).

haha yeah, the PSAT was tiring enough for me. :( I really don't wanna take that long of a test.

oic, yeah, its been a while since looking at any PSAT tests.

Hep Kat 08-03-2006 12:42 PM

I actually enjoyed the SATs

Dead Star 08-03-2006 12:44 PM

Haha wow. I might actually get to studying then.

I got like a 186 or so on the last one. I think around a 1150 or so without the new section or sommat.

I don't remember what I got, just that I thought I did really poorly since I scored like 10 less on math than I did on the real SAT I took in 9th, and I think I did worse on vocab too. :-\

ps this new ct name is :-|

bottlerocket 08-03-2006 12:48 PM

^ I agree. I'm not a fan of the new CT name.

Your band has a siq bassist.

You sound like you do the same fills over and over, though.

Black Ink 08-03-2006 01:50 PM

I got a 1040 (out of 1600) on my SAT's and I still got into the school I wanted.

My gpa and essay kicked ***.
