i listened to the first three songs it was okay

im sort of sifting through trip hop / electronica right now because i started writing a project report and that's the kinda thing i like when i'm studying. massive attack, telefon tel aviv, opus 15, savath & savalas. <--- their new album [I]Golden Pollen [/I]is ****in awesome

I agree that [i]Psychocandy[/i] is overrated (only slightly though)..the songs can get a bit too samey. But it's still my favourite Jesus and Mary Chain album, although yeah [i]Darklands[/i] has some great moments as well. I want to see them live, but they don't seem to want to play in their own country.

eh, perri, this is alright. The beats are good but the rapper has no flow, and at times sounds like a nerdier version of Immortal Technique. idk it sounds like he's trying too hard to create some rap magnum opus

Imo the force of rappers like Sole and Buck 65 doesn't lie in their flows. I think Sole and the Skyrider Band made the best hip-hop album this year, next to Aesop Rock.

he does have a different flow, i remember saying that in the thread.. he doesn't really match syllables to beats etc. he'll sorta read his lyrics at his own pace which will match the beat but not exactly, i dunno i think its interesting. the best part is definitely the music though

So much more than I expected, it's gotta be my favorite album this year.

Sole is an odd rapper. He really doesn't have much of a flow, its much more about the lyrical content for him.

I suggest [I]Selling Live Water[/I] if you want to give him another chance.

I love Sole + Skyrider Band. My main gripe with older Sole is that while most of the beats are catchy they get repetetive as hell since he just makes a cool sample and loops it for the duration of the song, because as previously mentioned he focuses more on the things he's saying. But the new album has true, fleshed-out beats.
