I don't think there's a better album to listen to in it's entirety late at night than Dark side of the moon. Which i did last night, and consiquently woke up at 5 AM with my headphones still on.
|
I agree, man. I also like to listen to Electric Ladyland when I am drifting off.
|
ok, so..what's XSAO?..
|
It's a site that lets you play full albums. You can't download them, just listen. I never really liked it.
|
yah??
yah??
Please at least make it look like you put some thought into your post. This isn't a chat room. |

That's happened to me countless times. I always wake up in the morning and realize my headphones are still on, or sometimes laying on the bed next to be. It's usually always DSOTM too, that or A Rush of Blood to the Head. Any mellow album is great, especially if the songs kinda flow together like in DSOTM. (Never slept through the clocks chiming though) |
For some reason Television's "Marquee Moon" makes for a great late night/falling asleep album. Maybe it's just me.

Never heard that album. You aren't a big Floyd fan are you? |

Well as long as you don't hate them ;) |
Very cool site :thumb:
I wish it had XSAO's layout though :(
Yah, but besides that I kind of prefer this site because it has better quality and it has bluegrass. :thumb: |
The site is awesome, XSAO's never worked for me for some reason.
And for the record, I think Who's Next is the who's peak and has their best songs. However, I feel it's kind of like a greatest hits album and I prefer to listen to Tommy most of the time. Besides Tommy, Live At Leeds Deluxe Edition is my favorite. Listening to it right now, it is such a raw, powerful live album. Incredible. |
anyone here?

We don't really consider G'N'R Classic Rock. |
My thoughts on Tommy:
It's a good album, perhaps better than Who's Next, but because it's a concept album, I fell I have to llisten to it all thew way through. IT's a long concept album as well, so I have to get into it. Because I mostly listen to my music before bed, I rarely feel like I have hte time to listen to it. IT is a good album, just time-consuming. I know that sounds like music is my job, not my passion, But that's really why I don't listen to Tommy that much. EDIT: THis is my One-week anniversary on MX, I think. |

That gets me every time ABB is my favorite for sleeping. Amazing stuff, that is |

do you like the strokes? they learned everything they know from television. its a good album.
does any one know where the bluesy riff that slash plays between double talkin' jive and ciwil war on the use your illusion 1 video from tokyo?
what? that wasnt even a question. i dont like tommy that much :upset: blue sky is great for falling asleep. (to walrus gumboot) |
I hate waking up with my headphones on. :upset: It's an uber waste of batteries.
|
I leave for one night and everyone decides that Who's Next is the Who's best album.
Sell outs... |
I wouldn't say that. Everybody still seems to like Tommy.
NP: George Thorogood - Who do You Love? |
I don't really feel that it's necessary to listen to Tommy all the way through to enjoy it. In fact, a good number of the songs on that album can do just fine standing alone. The Overture, Amazing Journey/Sparks, Christmas, Acid Queen, Underture, Pinball Wizard, Sensation, I'm Free, and We're Not Gonna Take it are some that are plot related but are still great even not in context of the album.
|
I'd say my favorite song off of Tommy is Acid Queen. Sparks is, in my opinioin, one of the best instumentals ever. Something about We're Not Gonna Take It never clicked with me.
|
I haven't even heard all of Tommy. :(
|
I haven't even heard all of Tommy. :(
Faggot The first 15 (maybe more) songs on Tommy are perfect. |
The first, second and fourth sides are all amazing. I don't thrink side three is as good.
|
My Generation is their best, I think.
|
My Generation is their best, I think.
I like Tommy and the Who Sell Out better than that album, but you can do a lot worse than the Who Sings My Generation. It's definitely a great album. |
