Ballet Deviare (www.balletdeviare.org)

Bringing "high art" and extreme music together.
Works will be set to the music of ARSIS (James Malone of Arsis will be performing “A Diamond for Disease” live), OPETH, MY DYING BRIDE, JAPANISCHE KAMPHOERSPIELE feat. ELEKTROKILL, CRAIG ANDERSONIC (Craig will be performing live also), and MARA’S TORMENT

We are the first ballet company to incorporate death metal, doom, grind and electronic music, into our permanent repertoire. While other companies insist on using old, outdated, cliché music. We have stepped outside that restricted boundary to offer a unique and distinctive performance experience. Come experience high art, our way.

Performance dates in NYC are:

January 6th at 8:00pm
January 7th at 8:00pm
January 8th at 2:00pm

Tickets $40, BUT enter the discount code MTAL and receive 50% off all tickets.
For more info and ticket reservations go to www.balletdeviare.org

The talented MARK RIDDICK (www.riddickbros.com)
BLUNT FORCE GRAPHICS (owned by John Gallagher of DYING FETUS and Ben Kolts of MALAMOR)

Spectrum 11-08-2005 12:09 PM

Wow, what a weird concept... I really hope it goes well, though, because strange stuff like that can be amazing.

Except for that time a theatre group did Shakespeare and incorporated Techno and Dance style music into the implied musical numbers and scene changes. That didn't go so well.

I don't think it has, but at the rate the Harry Potter books are getting bigger, I'd say that the next one could be The Bible. I mean, book 5 was plain huge.

I'd go see the ballet if I could and I had money.

EDIT: And since when is ballet "High Art"? Music>Ballet.

Also, I wouldn't go if the ballet group is all male. Then just no.

My postcount would be much larger if I never procrastinated about going on MX...I post more at school then at home, and I'm not at home a lot anyway...

By the way, my band's recording again tomorrow! Me = ecstatic.

I'm also trying to hook up a show with Municipal Waste...dunno if I could pull it off, but hey we almost played with Exodus so I have my hopes up.

Cain 11-08-2005 01:25 PM

Man, am I stressed. For some reason I accepted the challenge of playing guitar in the pit for Little Shop of Horrors in just two days time (the show's on Thursday and I just started last night) when I have a paper due on that very same day. At least they might be paying me.

NE: Grilled cheese sandwiches.

EDIT: These thread name changes have got to stop. They get worse every time.

Damn, dude, I could imagine the stress...I hate stress man, I really can't handle too much stress at a time. I'd end up smoking a pack of cigs in 30 minutes  A couple weeks ago, for example, we almost played a show at the last minute, another band dropped out and me, my drummer and bass player were there for the show, so we got asked to play, and it was going to be me doing vocals AND lead on top of that...we didn't have any equipment or anything and damn, I was just pacing back and forth going like "goddamn goddamn goddamn!", smoking cigarette after cigarette  But we didn't play anyways because a couple people got drunk and the cops stopped the show..

NE: Your mom

Off to Music Theory class, ho's. I shall return, we never do anything in there anyway.
