I saw Midnight Movies open for Blonde Redhead and the chick singer worked really well with the music. I've never heard one of their records though.
I like her voice but I think maleness would work better.

Girl Talk - Night Ripper

Saw an Aussie band called Witch Hats last night and they ruled. From Melbourne I think. Any Aussies here into them?

Tangy zizzle 11-11-2007 02:10 AM

Witch Hats are badaaaasssss. Really wanted to fly over and see 'em with Snowman & the Drones.

Little Man being Erased 11-11-2007 02:14 AM

Haven't heard Snowman, but Witch Hats and the Drones would have kicked ass.

Tangy zizzle 11-11-2007 02:17 AM

You'll like Snowman. Everyone likes Snowman. I'd go as far as saying if you see one for a reasonable price - buy an album blindly.

Little Man being Erased 11-11-2007 02:19 AM

Oh yeah? Well perhaps I should check them out right now.

Rogue's Gallery

pretty cool compilation of pirate themed songs. Got some big names on it like Nick Cave, Rufus, Bono.

also Old Crow Medicine Show - OCMS

Thanks 11-11-2007 06:35 PM

Hair Police - Prescribed Burning and The Empty Quarter.

The former is incredibly bleak scritchy scratchy sparse noise. The latter is a bit more aggressive noise.

Both are really good.

SgtPlicher 11-11-2007 06:51 PM

The new Ween album "La Cucaracha" came in the mail today, so I've been listen to that.

That album rules. I'm not sure what you think would be better about having it on vinyl, though.

I saw it at the record store today and almost bought it before not ever hearing it, and I dl'd it today and it's great. I dunno, I just thought It'd be cool to find an old copy of it (which I'm sure would be very difficult).
