Lots of Nick Cave and Beck.

Holmz 03-24-2005 12:10 PM

Sup everyone. I've been listening to Leerone...a singer/songwriter from LA. Semi-Meloncholy female vocals and lyrics.

You know, I listen to a lot of "weird" music, but I just don't get Sunn 0))).

Robert Crumb 03-24-2005 05:05 PM

Just got the new Prefuse 73 so I'm into that this lazy afternoon. It's quite good.

Yes.

pixiesfanyo 03-24-2005 08:07 PM

Stars - Set Yourself on Fire

I got bored of it back after purchasing, but it's been helping me fall asleep alot lately. Nice relaxing techno pop, something The Postal Service wishes they were.

I like that album a lot.

Particularly Ageless Beauty.

malpractice9 03-25-2005 03:46 AM

just got back from a pub in downtown Van-cou-vah called the brickyard. Saw this band called Formula, and i was really really impressed, so i bought their cd after the show. Its kind of a Killers / Wallflowers / Strokes with a pinch of Interpol. if you get a chance to listen to the songs "race of the rozier" or "clockwork", do so! they have a website. www.formulaband.com . These guys knew their intruments so well, it was inspiring...

Bandaid 03-25-2005 07:28 AM

What a fuckin' great album, I like this more than 24 Hour Revenge Therapy.

You peeps' should check this band out, they are so much cooler than your favourite band.

ZigzagSyzygy 03-25-2005 08:58 PM

The Mars Volta - Frances The Mute

Just a hunch here, but I have a feeling you hate Dear You.

I've been listening to Spoon's "Gimme Fiction".

Electrocution 03-25-2005 09:16 PM

[A to B] Life by mewithoutYou. It's been blowing me away all day long.

el doctor 03-25-2005 10:38 PM

Dude... I swear I went through middle school telling people "The world is an oyster, locked in a shell. You like the taste of it but you can't take the smell."

:p

Iai 03-26-2005 05:35 AM

Yesterday I went on a bit of a spree in the HMV sale.

Kraftwerk - The Man-Machine
Kraftwerk - Trans-Europe Express
Dr Dre - The Chronic
Wu-Tang Clan - Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
Smashing Pumpkins - Adore
The Pogues - Rum, Sodomy, & the Lash

All for £5 each. I wish they had sales like this more often.

I'm gonna be digging that today, and tomorrow, probably.

Bandaid 03-26-2005 06:48 AM

The Ashtray Girl 03-26-2005 10:30 AM

My new Athlete & Kaiser Chiefs albums.

Much <3age for Kaiser Chiefs in particular.

asymm 03-26-2005 10:32 AM

Andrew Bird - Andrew Bird & The Mysterious Production of Eggs
and still spinning
Sam Prekop - Who's Your New Professor?

Both are great solo soft indie pop stuff. Stunning work from both men.

NineBitFable 03-26-2005 11:10 AM

Prefuse 73- whatever tracks I can find.

Happymeal 03-26-2005 11:40 AM

Busdriver - Cosmic Cleavage
Genghis Tron - Cloak of Love EP
Die Haut and Nick Cave - Burnin' the Ice

Anyone like Busdriver? He's rap with jazz stuff.

What's the new Athlete album like? I really liked Vehicles & Animals, but the singles from Tourist sound worryingly Coldplay-esque.

As someone who dislikes Coldplay, is it worth my time?

Hafez used to rave about him all the time. I ignored it because......well, it's Hafez.

Wanker 03-26-2005 01:17 PM

I just figured mout how to convert these stupid .flac files to .MP3, so right now I'm listening to EitS's show in Germany. Really good stuff.

Zappa 03-26-2005 01:39 PM

Queens of the Stone Age

I'm finally giving R a chance, after having it for probably 6 months or so.
