Yea I don't believe in the rumor either, probably the same losers made it up that think that they have satanic messages in Stairway to Heaven intentionally.
|
I think the stairway backwards thign was intentional. Bands like to have mysterys to their music. From songs like whole lotta love, black dog, heartbreaker and such nobody would even consider the possibily of them being satanists. So zeppelin probably decided to mess with some people's minds. If my band ever gets big i'm loading our songs full of weird messages just for fun.
You're pretty much spot on. After they kicked Albert out, the worst thing they did was Club Ninja. But that did have 'Perfect Water' on it, which is beautiful. So it wasn't that bad. And I have a rare live bootleg with some Club Ninja material on it, and that stuff kick a*s live! Then they did nothing except tour for a decade, but, they released two studio albums (Heaven Forbid, and Cure Of The Hidden Mirror) with Danny Miranda on bass, and Bobby Rondinelli on drums. Great albums, especially Heaven Forbid.
And they released a live DVD and CD called 'A Long Days Night' which proves they've still got it. And Buck Dharma is better than ever. Amazing guitarist. Buck's Boogie (live) from the DVD/CD If you get a chance to see them, go for it. I saw them in June, it was awesome.
Er, I heard they were coming to town like in January, but I put that in the back of my mind. Then in March, at school I went to their website to confirm if they were coming to Portland, and they were......one week before... Argh, I was so **** pissed. |
I like Led Zeppelin the best! i agree with the beatles, they aren't hard rock at all!
|
Of course the beatles aren't hard rock. What kinda crack pot said they were?
|
And there is the myth about Led Zeppelin making a deal with the Devil to get their instant sucess. The only one who didn't make the deal was John Paul Jones. People who believe in this use Bonzo dying and Robert Plants Son dying as proof. The lyrics to "Nobodys Fault But Mine" also testify to this rumor.
 I wouldn't be surprised, because who hasn't been driven in by the devil's spell? Badmoon, the man of God or in some cases Jah |
i think the master of classic rock is still bob dylan...no1 writes songs like bob dylan...no1 else sings like bob dylan either, which is a good thing. but he plays a mean guitar and harmonica and has written some of the most amazing music ever.
Dylan really isnt rock & roll. He is definately more folk. I can understand saying rock & roll if you consider his music after he went electric and had the band as his backing band. But even with his electric stuff if u listen to the lyrics they are far more down to earth than anything any steriotypical classic rock band like jimi or the doors played. |
Dylan really isnt rock & roll. He is definately more folk.
Dylan is Folk Rock. He didn't always have the traditional 3 chord progression, Blues orientated, solo sound. But he took it to Country. Which was how it was originally, in a way. |
ah arse, i dunno who said the beatles were hard rock, i just read it somewhere and thought i would comment on it!
|
There is some stuff in there, yeah. Even Stairway played forwards has its messages.
Where? |
There's a difference between writing about satanism and believing in it. I dislike how people call the Eagles' satanic because Hotel California, for example. They wrote a fictional piece, that if anything condemns satanism and it bothers that people see certain symbols and immediately brand songs and artists as satanists.
I'm pretty sure hotel california's about cocaine is it not? |
Or mabye it's about a hotel in California?
|
I'm pretty sure hotel california's about cocaine is it not?
I thought it was about weed. Meh. |
i like peter framptons sound effects
|
Sorry, I've been gone, but I couldn't ask who was the catcher because my mom was next to me in line. I hope it wasn't Morrison, but it was the 60's, there were probably drugs involved, and frankly, Morrison could have sex with anyone and still consider it straight, like Bruce Wayne.
I can't read all the pages, you guys are moving pretty fast, but I'll be back later. We should get a chatroom up, so we don't have to keep jumping back to the thread. ADIOS. |
i like peter framptons sound effects
Those are awesome. The guitar talky thingy is bitchin'. One of the best live performers ever in my opinon. |

The Church of Satan, founded in 1969 ("we haven't had that spirit since 1969"), was located in an old hotel on California Street, LA. Interesting, in my view. |
oops i mean 69-79
well that would be even better, hits off of. The Allman Brothers band, Idlewild south,At the fillmore east,Eat a peach, Brothers and Sssters, Wipe the windows and Enlightened rogues methinks. I like their newer sutff a lot too but there's no denything that was their best time for music. |
yo jet sounds classic
they sound like 70's and 80's rock |
Here's another dirty thirty on the flipside buhbuhbuhbabyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
It doesm't have to be old to be a classic. |
yo jet sounds classic
they sound like 70's and 80's rock
Yeah they do. Just about 10 times worse than actual music from the 70s and 80s. Same sort of idea exept that jet has no talent and have a really generic sound whereas music from that time we good and original. If I want a repetitive 3 chord band i'll listen to some ac/dc. At least they have talent. |

Good for you. Now let's stop talking about the Allmans. |
I picked up Yessongs. Didn't know it was live, but its still awesome, nonetheless.

Speaking of The Allman Brothers, I just got my Gov't Mule shirt in the mail. And I'm about to finish Mule's recorded catelogue. :) Here's the shirt... http://stores.musictoday.com/store/product.asp?dept%5Fid=707&pf%5Fid=GMCT30&band%5Fid=322&sfid=2 |
^Awesome! Shame 1 in 500 people you know (probably 1000 since you're 14) will know who they are. That shirt makes me want to find some means of buying things over the internet ;) (my dad thinks the world is out to steal his credit card number).

badmoon is 14? I saw him as slightly older for whatever reason. are you turning 15 this year or next?

I think he is... He certainly doesn't act like it. He knows more about classic rock than my dad (not my much, he was a DJ in the golden age of radio ;) ). |
