Century Media is having a 5 CD"s for $35 deal .

Thanks

EDIT: Disregard this, I ordered Battalions and Follow the Blind
Deth 11-03-2005 08:47 PM

Slowly We Rot and Cause of Death are generally considered the best.

These will be my first, but I've heard the majority of A Night At The Opera, and it is fantastic.

Yeah, I love Hansi's voice on that album, ive heard about 6 or seven songs from it. Out of what i heard though theres one thing that bothers me a lil, the rythm guitars in a few are too low in the mix. But besides that, its realy good.

Steerpike 11-04-2005 02:26 AM
lol orgy music. well, im not as lucky as that guy, but do any of you guys know of some good acoustic music? I like Pink Floyd's acoustic stuff, like Wish You Were Here, and especially Goodbye Blue Sky. I'm looking to broaden my musical taste a little past distorted guitars all the time.
Michael Schenker has a couple acoustic songs here and there. Nightmare is the first that springs to mind.

Blind Guardian also did a couple good acoustic songs on their album Imaginations from the Other Side.

A great acoustic group overall is the ska group Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution.

Blackmore's Night is largely acoustic, and might help you get into some folk and classical influences.

That should help get you started.

I was listening to "The Spirit Carries On" by Dream Theater. I enjoyed it and it made me happy inside my heart. Does anyone know any other happy/acoustic songs that make you feel warm inside your heart?

Eagleheart by Stratovarius usually does it for me. As well as Forever by Edguy and Pure by Lost Horizon.

In fact, Edguy and Lost Horizon are generally pretty happy guys in general. But it's not like a relentlessly cheerful kind of happy, it's more like an energetic "Fuck yeah!" kind of happy.

I need bands/songs that sound like Isis - The Beginning and The End. The vocals and music are amazing.

Elnimio 11-05-2005 03:51 PM

Pelican
Cult of Luna

Fullysick metal man 11-05-2005 04:54 PM

i want a band that sounds like Judas Priest's Painkiller Album.

But only 10 times faster and tons of gain and awsome vocals.

is this even possible?

EDIT screeching was kinda misleading

Along with Med's list; Mare.

Todzumirjetzt 11-05-2005 06:36 PM

I want a band that has mastered the art of sad songs with beauty. I don't want lyrics talking about someone else being sad - that doesn't do anything for me, but i want sad songs that are so beautiful and meaningful that you become one with them and can't help but feel it in your heart.

Which Machine Head album would you guys say is the most representative of their overall sound?

Apocalyptic Raids 11-06-2005 04:24 AM

I think they changed styles frequently, but Burn My Eyes seems to be the best-liked.

Unfortunately Painkiller cannot be reached. However, you might like Cage.

BryanJ 11-06-2005 08:46 AM

Ok, this may be a tough one. Bands that could be compared lyrically to Bad Religion; not punk bands because I have already heard those names(also because asking this in "Rock and Metal").
