hey jxd we should put you through ballet, you damn pansy. CHOP CHOP

permalutioin: you don't count because you're a ****ing sasquatch.

BridgeToSolace 09-02-2006 11:56 PM
It made sense Jon.

It was also pretty mean. :-\
Well, I guess it's like calling a deaf person a fatass.

If they don't understand you, it's not quite as mean.

 I guess so.
I think I need a third opinion so that I can reassure that my jokes make sense (whether or not they're funny) and Chelsea is just stupid for not understanding anything.
I know I'm stupid. :(

John: lol yeah

Ballet is lovely, I miss it so much. I did ballet for 8 years in a row, and it really pays off. I went into pointe, but then quit due to breaking my foot. I'm really flexible now and I love it.

Jon's post to Brian:  I guess you're talking about me?

BridgeToSolace 09-02-2006 11:58 PM

I would totally jam with Vince if I didn't think he'd botch up my siq riffz with his crazy rhythme altering drumming.

Chelsea should post pictures of her self in a leotard, amiright?

Eliminator 09-02-2006 11:58 PM

Yeah, it's like gouging a blind person's eyes out.

I would so lol @ that.

Jon: I'm actually a pretty laid back drummer. I throw in some weird stuff to accent it but I try to accent the music and not be showy as a drummer.

Your tabit stuff doesn't reflect that at all :p

As long as you don't use the hi-hat often, I'm happy. Any section where you would use a closed hi-hat should be done with toms or a ride, and anything with an open hi-hat should just by cymbols.

Hi-hats are anticlimactic.

Eliminator 09-03-2006 12:05 AM

You can do some really cool things with opening and closing the hi-hat as accents, and 16th notes can be cool.

I figured out that the sign of a good drummer is if they can use the hi-hat with just their foot while doing other things with the stix.

And you're a good guitarist if you can tune while playing.

And a good bassist if you don't just follow the guitar.

Eliminator 09-03-2006 12:08 AM

woah i never thought of any of that

guess i have to quit my band

BridgeToSolace 09-03-2006 12:10 AM
woah i never thought of any of that

No, you can be a mediocre musician and still be in a band.

I'm quite a ways from tuning while I play.

Unless you a bassist who just does root notes. If you are, just quit.

Eliminator 09-03-2006 12:11 AM

well first line = sarcasm

second line is pretty much true because my band is terrible and everyone is a retard so it's going to stay terrible and i'd rather not put up with retarded terribles

shuffles and that sort of stuff doesn't work without hi hats. At least not as well. My favorite is like open hi-hat, snare, snare, snare or using my left hand to hit open hi-hats in the middle of a fill.

Did you hear my recording of the coheed song ever?

almost all drummers can do that :-\

Watch live videos. Almost any drummer uses it to keep time.

The best ones play cowbell beats on it or something.

they are actually pretty good, though. as you well know...

Eliminator 09-03-2006 12:18 AM

i haven't listened to x in a long time

i take drum lessons but i don't own a set lol crazy

BridgeToSolace 09-03-2006 12:19 AM

Drums are one of the only instruments were lessons don't really help you at all.

Eliminator 09-03-2006 12:19 AM

really because i magically got better

BridgeToSolace 09-03-2006 12:21 AM

Lessons tend to help some people only because it gets them to practice, rather than the merit of the lessons's content.
this must be why most drummers are shi.t
Well, the drummers I know who have taken formal lessons are absolutely terrible, yet my two friends who drum who are largely self taught (with some help from family members and what not) are fairly decent.

The best way to learn drums is to listen to good drummers.

Drums are one of the only instruments where lessons are pretty critical.

I'd be so much better if I wasn't self-taught.

Eliminator 09-03-2006 12:27 AM

true

one time i took a piss in a drummer's mouth. he liked it so we ****ed. true story.
