Sometimes it really sucks to be American. Our country has no historical value compared to Europe.
Thats just wrong, we have tons of historical value in the US, it is just a different kind of historical value, as it is more modern. For example, go to Gettysburg and say there is no historical value in the US compared to europe. So our history doesnt go back as far, big deal. |

So our history doesnt go back as far, big deal.
But in things like Gettysburg, it may be significant to us, but Europeans won't care about it. We don't have anything big like Middle Ages stuff - that's what I'm getting at. |
Annapolis (where I live) has historical value. 1630's over here (that's old for America).
|
My experiences with British public transport haven't been [i]all[i] that bad, actually.
The public transportation (in the bits I've been to) sucks, too.
Ah, but we have a lot. From this. :p To this. I meant the public transport in America sucks compared to the luxury we enjoy over here. I really like the public transport system we have here.
|
Yes, the American public transport system does ineed blow [walks everywhere ].
Also, don't mind what I'm adding, just read the name of my iPod: here |
I see.
Apparently BBC 1 are putting sharks on Trial :-/ |

I know, I just illustrated our public transportation. And Lunch: The US didn't exist back then, though. :o We have been around since the ancient times, we were a tribe called the Belgae. Conquered by the Romans. :upset: |
And Lunch: The US didn't exist back then, though. :o
Yea, but Annapolis did. We were actually the US capital for a year or two back in the day. |
Yea, but Annapolis did. We were actually the US capital for a year or two back in the day.
Alright then, but you still weren't a cool tribe with beards. |
I'm just saying for America, Annapolis is historic. In Europe, no one cares.

/still is on a rant about Medieval Times
Man, Medieval Times is ridiculous. I remember in seventh grade we had our class trip to Chicago, and that's one of the places my wonderful school decided to take us. Basically, you go there and wear a crown, a la the kind of crown you get at Burger King: those stupid paper crowns that don't fit on your head unless you're six years old. Then, you are seated in a colored section, which represents the knight you're supposed to cheer for. So, we're in seventh grade. We're supposed to get the badass, I'll ruin-your-shit Black Knight, right? Or the Red Knight, whose armor looks pretty awesome, right? No, we get the pussyass White Knight. Oh, and your meal consists of chicken, ribs, and potatoes, where everything is greasy, slimy, and unappetizing. And because, gee, it's Medieval Times, you don't get any silverware, so you get to eat with your fingers. "Oh man, how awesome!" the typical seventh grader would think. "I get to eat mashed potatoes with my fingers!" But when it looks like the potatoes look like a fungus that generated from the fatass maiden-in-distress' genital area, the excitement diminishes. Oh, and your drink of choice is Pepsi. Very original, for Medieval Times. And then the Master of Ceremonies is this fairy jester guy, who always repeats "Welcome to Meeeeeeeeeeedieeeeeeeeeeevallllll Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimes!" over and over again in this horrible, off-key voice. Seventh graders generally aren't that judgemental in regards to idiots, but we all made an exception here. All this, and we got to watch our wuss White Knight get his ass handed to him in jousting, swordfighting, and horseback riding. What a rompin', stompin' good time. Go, Medieval Times, go! |
The US did exist back then in theory!
I take a bus every day, and I can honestly say the US public transportation blows. |
We have been around since the ancient times, we were a tribe called the Belgae. Conquered by the Romans. :upset:
Don't feel bad, it happened to most of us. |
Only place where it's acceptable is NYC... even there it's kinda crappy though...
Don't feel bad, it happened to most of us.
It happened to us constantly though. All the conquering. :upset: But then we picked on Kongo, they didn't have an army. |

EDIT:
It happened to us constantly though. All the conquering. :upset:
The North of England/South of Scotland kept getting conquered and re-conquered too. Everyone kept bickering around that whole border area. |
Didn't the Romans leave the Scottish alone, because they thought that the English were pretty wild, but the Scottish, they had blue paint on their faces. So they didn't really want to go there?
|
America pwned the Natives .
/something about the Congo
One of my professors is from the Congo. He did his undergrad there, and did his graduate studies in Belgium, since "ze Cohn-go eez ah coal-uhn-ee auf Bel-xeum." |

Berwick-upon-Tweed in particular changed hands a ridiculous number of times. |

They were European, actually. ;)
One of my professors is from the Congo. He did his undergrad there, and did his graduate studies in Belgium, since "ze Cohn-go eez ah coal-uhn-ee auf Bel-xeum."
Don't believe him. |

Nah, the Romans dominated everybody. |
