I was thinking of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mk_Ultra They're not bad, I think they have their old albums online free. I'll find them. Here: http://www.mkultra.com/html/music.html Now I'm currently diggin' MK Ultra but JV's solo stuff is better. I love this song: http://jv.vendaface.com/Vanderslice_Time.Travel.mp3?download |

Darker My Love - s/t
Decemberists - Hazards of Love
Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
How is this? |
Darker My Love - s/t
Decemberists - Hazards of Love How is this?
Really sweet. It's just as strong as United, maybe even better. "Lasso" is key. Some people compare the album to Of Montreal, which I think is completely ridic. |
The review site won't let me post for some reason so I'm gonna go ahead and post here.
About Hazards of Love: This album is pretty boring in most parts to me. I'm actually really disappointed, as I've been listening to the Decemberists for a few years now. I enjoy their folk-indie-rock/pop tunes way more than this transition into some kind of prog/indie album rock style. The album is really repetitive, which I probably wouldn't mind if I was really into the tunes that repeat, but they just don't have that sort of appeal to me to make me want to hear them over and over. There are a few highlights, but I think the album is pretty average. Castaway and Cutouts remains my favorite of theirs, closely followed by The Crane Wife; both excellent albums and sounds more natural. 3/5 |

that song I'll Be on the Water of theirs is incredible. so well-textured...powerful theme, and simple songs that are written well like that really hit me the hardest but ive been gettin Pere Pumped (lame) for my Dub Housing LP to come in the mail, so ive been listening to Modern Dance again after a while, and .... . . . holy god how did i never realize how amazing Humor Me is? i always remember liking it but now i think it rivals the title track for best on the album... ive been listening to it incessantly, along with Gang of Four - Anthrax. this whole week i've been putting together the playlist for my radio show tonight, for which i usually dont usually plan ahead. it's really going to kick ***, i hope somebody on here cares to listen. and if you really want to make me happy, you should let me know you plan to properly enjoy it... a couple of my friends are going to do so. for tonight i am excite. the show is in about 10 hrs and 18 mins... 12AM-2AM e.s.t. on WUVT i should really get to doing this circuits lab that is due today and i am skipping class for (the creative process, none the less :{ ) |
