^^ This was mean. Jom a dobbing bitch? Never! It does seem like an accurate description of Med though.
It's an accurate description, especially since "dobbing" means "fucking badass." |

Ouch. |
lawlz jom ur teh coolest!
But seriously, what does the word "dobbing" mean? I tried looking it up but there doesn't appear to be such a word.
It used to mean "tattling to the mods" as used by plexiglass, blockhead, that Adam kid, simple man, and liberi. Oh boy how the times have changed! No more anti-dobbing crews anymore. |
I was wondering where did 12 Ounces of Hate go? I think that was his username. I know he changed it to something else, but I forgot.

NJMetalMeister is his name.
|
NJMetalMeister is his name.
and the reason why he doesnt post much anymore is due to the fact that he is too busy with that "life" thing. |
NJMetalMeister is his name
Ha! That's complete news to me. I had no idea of this. |

NP - X- Japan - Art of Life
How is X - Japan? I find a lot of sites that rave about painfully mediocre J-pop when I'm searching for Shibuya-Kei and other J-stuff. I keep seeing X - Japan's name, but I haven't heard any opinions (that I trust). On the subject of Japanese music, Tsu Shi Ma Mi Re is awesome, and were fucking amazing live. Three Japanese girls with broken English on their first American tour - the bassist got excited to the point of tears while they were having a talk with the audience halfway through the show. Look them up oh Bobo. |
Aaron- Ha, he's never gonna get stars with one of those! :p
Kage- Name changes suck sometimes. If there are any X Japan fans who would be willing to exchange sexual favors for an mp3 of Art of Life, spiralout7@gmail.com is me. (Via YSI please.) :) NP: Porcupine Tree- Cloroform |
I feel like megacrap right now. I'm tired enough to want to go to sleep (as I often do when tired), but I just can't bring myself to walk up all those stairs.
Someone carry me. |

I would upload it for you, but I am about to go to sleep.
I feel like megacrap right now. I'll snatch it from soulseek, then, and see what I think.

Kage- Name changes suck sometimes.
I'm not in this thread enough to keep up with all of them. :( |
Even then, I've only recently gotten used to seeing "Kingofdudes" rather than Gilmour. :p
Then there are users like Jake/6FR/MXican/shortass who never have a consistent name. :-* |
Im thinking of getting a new name actually :shifty:

:-*
Eh, I'm used to that because he was Kingofdudes when I first got here.
Thank God I changed my name early and to one that was cool.
Who were you originaly? |
What the hell, exactly how many stairs do you have to climb?
I think it's about 14. It's much more intimidating when you're extremely tired. |
I only know who KingofDudes is because I recognize the avatar. He's had the David Gilmour thing going for ages.
:P |
Eh, I'm used to that because he was Kingofdudes when I first got here.
Yeah, I thought kingofdudes always was a better name anyway. Choosing the name Gilmour just made it seem like an "I am at one with my avatar" moment.
Who were you originaly?
Ripper22. :p |
Ah, yes, I remember when you were that name.
Cain certainly is better. :) /head explodes from trying to keep up with all the name changes |
I can't keep up with the name changes. I keep finsing out that users I thought to have left a while ago have been here the whole time under a different name.

Look them up oh Bobo.
X-Japan is a pretty good band, but Art of Life is an amazing song. 10 minute piano solo > all. I'll check them out as I do like J-rock/pop and such. Any other suggestions for Japanese based bands that I should check out pop or rock? NP - Arcturus - Of Nails and Sinners |
Bobo, check out Ark Storm, there an amazing Japanese Power Metal/Neo-Classical outfit.
|
I don't know a lot of good J-Rock - you probably already know the Pillows, and the only other I can think of is Go!Go!7188.
Definitely check out Go!Go!7188. Oh, I just though of another one when I was further down in writing this post - NUMBER GIRL. I don't know if I'd call them rock, but I would call them good. I think you'd appreciate the Shibuya-Kei thing I mentioned too - it's a weird thing, always a mix of a number of styles. Think electronic pop with that strange sort of subject matter you'd expect from the Japanese, and add in some French influence in some cases. Check out: Takako Minekawa, Cornelius, Kahimi Karie, Buffalo Daughter, Yukari Fresh, Lily Chou-Chou. Now that I think about it, not all of those are really even tied to pop or rock, but it's all good music. There's more Japanese music I have to sort through still, and I have it on good authority that some of it's good, so I'll get back to you if you want more. Oh, and if you want something sickly sweet, look up The Marshmallow Kisses, and if you want something whacked out, get something by Ex-Girl. |
I'll say one thing for the Japanese: they put shredding guitar solos into EVERYTHING. I listen to the poppiest of my gf's J-pop and there's a screeching, wailing solo in the middle of each one.
|
That's weird.. I actually never heard a 'j-pop' song. But yeah, that's good I guess.
|
I've managed to tap into Japanese mainstream in my travels, and it's really just as boring as ours.
Good thing it's easier to find the good Japanese bands!
I'll say one thing for the Japanese: they put shredding guitar solos into EVERYTHING. I listen to the poppiest of my gf's J-pop and there's a screeching, wailing solo in the middle of each one.
Heh, not the case when you get into tasteful Japanese music. |
I finished narrowing the list down to the top 100 and organizing it. The last dozen or so people all had the same votes, but there were only six or seven spaces left so I had to make some tough cuts :(
But I cut them out mainly in the name of variety. If two European power metal dudes had the same number of votes and were on the line to get cut, then I had to pick one! I'm so sorry. |
So when will the next thread be up?
I can't take this anymore. I'm going to bed. I'll talk to you guys tomarrow. |

I appreciate it alot, I don't know much about Japanese music nor do I know any one who does but I enjoy it. |
Yeah, me and my buddy probed the Japanese hard while I wasn't at MX.
The only band that anybody really knows at all is the Pillows, and I think most people think of Japanese music as largely bubbly pop. |

i kind of enjoy crazy japanese rock. like the boredoms or melt banana. insane people.

The only bands/artists I know of as of now is : Gackt Malice Mizer X-Japan Ayumi Hamasaki Tamaki Nami Dir En Grey Miyavi Flow Akeboshi and a few others I can't remember at the moment. Japanese metal bands can practically do no wrong. Edit: Oh my god, I forgot to mention Guitar Wolf. Stuff like Dir en Grey and Malice Mizer are pretty big in Japan. Like, Linkin Park big. That's about how much I like them, too. :/ |
