It's true. Because of the amount of really good teams in Europe, European teams aren't able to get as many points for the FIFA ranking. While the only other decent team against whom the US regularly can play against, is Mexico.

And the reason Europeans say it as well, is because the US team has been good only very recently. They used to suck and no one denied it, give the Europeans some time to accept that they got better. You would lose against England though.

I think the reason why the US has a good team now is because maybe you guys are around 50 times larger than England? So i think you have quite alot more players to choose from. We only bitch because Rugby and Football are things that are very important to the average persons life.

And if we're talking regular teams, Europe is far superior. Spain, England, Italy, ... all those countries have at least 4 super teams.

We used to suck horribly, and are now having a bit of success. Is it wrong to be proud of our team, even though we are a huge country, etc?

Kewell plays striker for Liverpool, and uhhhh I forget who Viduka plays for. They both used to play for Leeds a few years back.

Today is Kim Thayil's birthday. Most people will know him as the lead guitarist from Soundgarden, and a very talented one at that. He's 45 today.
I really don't get to watch football that often, as it comes on cable and I don't have cable...
We have the Charleston Battery though, so whenever I can, I check up on them.
I am one of the few Americans in my school that refers to "soccer" as football and "football" as American football.
I will be making sure that I check up on the matches that come up on regular broadcast...

The sad fact of life is that the athletes are the greediest people on earth. Now I LOVE baseball, but i mean its pathetic that guys who play baseball, who make multiple million dollars per year can and have gone on strike because they felt they are not being paid enough, even though they only need to work for a portion of the year, and their work consists of playing a game that they love to play.

DC United played a friendly against Chelsea not long ago, and only lost 2-1. That's incredible for US soccer, IMO.

It was really expensive. Like 40 bucks for the cheapest seats, I think.
